Fernando Alonso almost lost his temper ahead of last Sunday’s Indian grand prix, the Italian newspaper La Stampa reports.
The newspaper said the Spaniard was furious after the Maranello based team’s technical boss Pat Fry blamed the drivers for a sub-standard qualifying performance. “The result reflects our current potential,” said Fry after Alonso qualified fifth in India.

A month before the inaugural race date, uncertainty still persists about the readiness of India’s new Buddh circuit.
The FIA’s World Motor Sport Council said in Singapore that the organisers and Bernie Ecclestone are giving “positive” briefings about the Delhi venue. “We’re very happy, they’re doing a good job,” the F1 chief executive told the AP news agency on Saturday.

An official of the new Indian grand prix has denied the Delhi venue could struggle to be ready for its inaugural October race later this year. The 5.1 kilometre Jaypee Group Circuit is currently under construction on 100 acres of land in the Uttar Pradesh state.

Ecclestone not worried Delhi to also bungle Indian GP
Bernie Ecclestone has revealed he is not opposed to the idea of France returning to the formula one calendar. Earlier this month it emerged that Magny Cours, the long-time scene of the country’s annual race between 1991 and 2008, is ramping up its efforts to return to the calendar by 2012.

Ecclestone insists Indian GP still on track
Bernie Ecclestone will attempt to stir the interest of the Indian corporate world when he visits the country next month. The F1 chief executive in October is scheduled to review the progress of the site of the future Indian grand prix, but he has vowed to take the opportunity to also look into how to attract more Indian sponsors to the sport.
The just one-year-old Indian grand prix is already regarded as one of the most “awkward” stops on the annual calendar for formula one teams and the sport’s travelling circus.
