The countdown is on, only one week until the start of the 2011 race season.
The inaugural race weekend in the new F1600 Formula F Championship Series will be challenging, but Caitlin Johnston, from Ontario, is up for it. “For our team it feels like the definite logical next step. We have been racing Formula 1600 for four seasons now, really learning the ins and outs of the car and gaining race experience. I have been very fortunate to be able to race in different cars and series, and this is no different. To say that I am excited is an understatement,” said Johnston.

California based Honda Performance Development, (HPD), and Wirth Research are stepping up HPD’s globally successful sportscar programme in 2011 with a highly revised version of the internationally victorious HPD ARX-01c LMP2 prototype plus, more significantly, a striking new LMP1 contender designed to compete in the premier class at the Le Mans 24 Hours.

Consistent Podium Finisher to Pair with Carroll for Championship Run
Hot on the heels of the announcement of the drivers of the team’s #74 car, Compass360 Racing today revealed that Keith Carroll will pair with Ryan Eversley in the #75 Honda Civic Si for the 2011 Grand-Am Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge season. Eversley, who finished fourth driving #75 in last year’s Street Tuner-class driver standings will co-drive with Carroll, no stranger to the Grand-Am paddock, having driven a Porsche Cayman in 2010.
Audi Sport Team Joest Audi R18 TDI driven by Marcel Fässler, André Lotterer and Benoit Treluyer fought its way to a magnificent win of the 79′th runing of the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans 2011. 
For the first time since 2006, Audi will start on pole. LM P1. Audi R18 # 1 captured the provisional pole (3’25”799).
