Two Formula 3 novices also showed a surprising performance
Two victories by points’ leader Raffaele Marciello (Prema Powerteam), who extended his lead in the drivers’ standings of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship dominated the third season meeting of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship.
The last round of the 2009 season, held at the Hockenheimring from 23rd to 25th October, 2009, will be the crucial race in the battle for the 2009 DTM title. 
Yet another meeting to discuss the future of the German grand prix at Hockenheim passed this week without a definitive solution. The race’s existing private promoters have ruled out absorbing financial losses in future, raising the prospect that Germany, an important and traditional F1 host, will not be featured on the 2010 formula one calendar. 
Giorgio Pantano stormed to pole position in this afternoon’s qualifying session at the Hockenheimring, claiming the top spot ahead of Romain Grosjean and Andreas Zuber.
Luca Filippi has announced that, with immediate effect, he will race for the remainder of the 2008 GP2 season with Trust Team Arden.
