Auction of Linkin Park design helmet for Japanese aid has ended.
The joint project between Sauber F1 Team driver Kamui Kobayashi and the rock band Linkin Park has been very successful: 19,000 US dollars have been raised for the one-off helmet with which Kobayashi raced at the finale of the 2011 FIA Formula One World Championship in Sao Paulo. The revenue from the online auction goes to the Japanese aid through the internationally renowned charity organisation “Music for Relief“, initiated by Linkin Park.

Despite attending his first race as the 2011 champion-elect, it was Sebastian Vettel who doled out a present in Korea.
The Red Bull driver had learned that Rubens Barrichello, the Brazilian veteran, is collecting F1 drivers’ helmets. “Great surprise when I received a helmet that was missing in my collection. Thanks Vettel,” the Williams driver wrote on Twitter.

Schumacher – ‘no doubts’ about healed neck injury
Michael Schumacher will race a new helmet livery to coincide with his return to formula one in 2010 with Mercedes GP. The seven time world champion began his GP2 test at Jerez on Tuesday wearing his customary bright red livery, which had become synonymous with his successful career at Ferrari.
Felipe Massa has been handed back his damaged helmet by F1′s governing body. After sustaining serious head injuries in Budapest qualifying in late July, the FIA confiscated the Brazilian’s damaged Schuberth helmet for investigations.
