Ocean Racing Technology was established in late 2008
Ocean Racing Technology, owned by OCEANATIONAL MOTOR SA and led by Tiago Monteiro and Jose Guedes, will not be taking part in the upcoming 2013 GP2 Championship season. After four seasons in the GP2 Series, three in GP2 Asia and a season in GP3, the Portuguese team made the decision following the lack of financial support that had been agreed upon with the Portuguese State and Parkalgar.

Racing Engineering ace quickest on final day
The last 2011 post-season test day took place today at Circuit de Catalunya. The paddock welcomed two new faces for the occasion, namely Pole Kuba Giermaziak at iSport and Spaniard Albert Costa at Super Nova Racing. GP2 race winner Giacomo Ricci returned to the field at Super Nova, GP3 2011 runner-up James Calado rejoined Lotus ART, and Sam Bird tested again with Trident Racing.

Fabio Leimer will be driving the Sauber C30-Ferrari at one of the “Young Driver Days” in Abu Dhabi
At the so called “Young Driver Days”, the test days for up and coming drivers who have competed in no more than two Formula One races, the Sauber C30-Ferrari will not only be driven by Esteban Gutièrrez, but also by Fabio Leimer. Mexican Gutièrrez, the team’s 20-year-old official test and reserve driver, will be at the wheel for two of the three days in Abu Dhabi.

GP2 SeriesTM CEO reflects on the 2011 season and looks ahead
2011 has been another great GP2 season, with Romain Grosjean proving himself worthy to sit with our previous champions: hopefully he will soon join the likes of Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg, Timo Glock and Pastor Maldonado in the F1 paddock.

GP2 Asia series calendar problem
It was announced Thursday that the GP2 Asia round 2 in Bahrain has been cancelled due to the current political situation in the small island state. This will give the GP2 Asia series a serious problem since the calendar only contain 3 rounds (6 races) and since the final round is also in Bahrain the organizers has to come up with a solution rather quickly.

A dark cloud is lingering above the 2011 season opener.
Anti-government protesters in Bahrain are clashing violently with police, with next month’s grand prix specifically targeted by one group and Bernie Ecclestone admitting “danger”. For formula one, the biggest danger is that the race – scheduled to take place a week after pre-race tests at the same Sakhir circuit – will have to be called off.

Sam Bird, one of the most exciting talents in British motor racing, has announced that he will support the halow charity throughout 2011. Sam is regarded as the hottest British prospect in motorsport, with 18 pole positions, 16 wins and 51 podiums to his credit since the age of eighteen.

Portuguese team looking for results from the upcoming race weekends
Ocean Racing Technology is betting on a pair of highly talented drivers to dispute the GP2 Asia Series 2011 championship. Oliver Turvey and Andrea Caldarelli will be two key elements of the Portuguese challenge and will be tasked with developing the new car before the GP2 Main Series.

Cecotto completes Super Nova Line-up for GP2 Asia
Having finished third in the 2008 ATS Formel 3 Cup, Johnny had his first taste of GP2 machinery in 2009 where he impressed at his first race weekend in Monza. Last year Johnny again showed his ability at GP2 level, whilst enduring a troubled season. Super Nova is confident that his talent can be realised in GP2 Asia and hope that this relationship can be carried on into the Main Series.
