Turner Motorsports will field the No. 30 Chevrolet with driver Alex Tagliani for the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal on August 18, 2012. Tagliani, a hometown favorite in Montreal, will compete on the circuit he knows well after narrowly finishing second in an epic battle to the finish during last year’s event. He hopes to better that result in 2012.

Villeneuve no fan of today’s ‘daddy’s boys’ drivers
Jacques Villeneuve has prefaced this weekend’s Canadian grand prix by admitting he is no big fan of today’s formula one.
The 1997 world champion will be attending this weekend’s race, held in Montreal at the circuit named in honour of his late father. Race organisers intend to mark the 30th anniversary of legendary Gilles Villeneuve’s death. “There’s something planned, but I would like to keep it a surprise,” promoter Francois Dumontier told the Montreal Gazette.

Valencia will not be on next year’s F1 calendar, Bernie Ecclestone said on Saturday.
He confirmed that, starting in 2013, an annually alternating deal between the Spanish port city and Barcelona will begin. Barcelona, the scene of this weekend’s Spanish grand prix, will host the race in 2013, before Valencia returns to the schedule in 2014, the F1 chief executive told Reuters.

Ferrari men know Spain crucial for title
Ferrari’s title tilt could hinge on the competitiveness of the updated F2012 this weekend in Barcelona.
“What I want is to have a competitive car in Barcelona,” insisted the famous Italian marque’s president Luca di Montezemolo on Tuesday. “That’s what I’ve asked for,” he is quoted as saying by Brazil’s O Estado de S.Paulo newspaper.

Richard Foley to be inducted to “Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame”

The 18th edition of the CMHOF gala is expected to be attended by over 300 guests.

Legends of Motorsports, a Bobby Rahal Signature Event, was at the legendary LeCircuit in Mont-Tremblant this weekend for the second event of its’ sophomore season of competition. Over 140 cars arrived for the three day weekend comprising of seven different run groups that culminated in eight races today including a one-hour Enduro Race open to all entrants.
