Returning to FIA GT1 World Championship
Pirelli returns to endurance racing this weekend with the opening round of the FIA GT1 World Championship, which this year is combined with the GT3 European Championship for the first time. Pirelli will be the sole supplier to both series, adding to the Italian firm’s illustrious portfolio of more than 50 motorsport championships all over the world.

The marque’s first win in the championship
Lamborghini secured its first FIA GT1 World Championship race victory at Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium, on 31 July 2010. Former Formula One driver Ricardo Zonta and team-mate Frank Kechele guided the Reiter Engineering #25 Lamborghini Murciélago 670 R-SV around the historic circuit to claim the team and the marque’s first win in the championship, 3.253 seconds ahead of the #3 Triple H Team Hegersport Maserati MC12.

Another former F1 driver joins the Auto GP grid.
Romain Grosjean, Renault F1 driver in 2009, will race in Spa-Francorchamps driving a car prepared by DAMS. The Frenchman, who was Renault’s test driver in 2008 and stepped up as full-time driver the following year, had a very successful career in single-seaters.

With a third-place finish in both the FIA GT1 World Championship and FIA GT3 European Championship
Reiter Engineering’s #25 Lamborghini Murcielago 670 R-SV, driven by Jos Menten and Frank Kechele, set the seventh fastest lap time during qualifying on the iconic British race track, putting them on the fourth row of the grid for the one-hour qualifying race. The pair managed to improve their position during this race to secure a sixth-place start on the grid for Sunday’s championship race.

Pastorelli will drive the Lamborghini Murciélago LP670 RS
For the second time this season Nicky Pastorelli will drive the Lamborghini Murciélago LP670 RS of the German ALL-INKL.COM Muennich Motorsport team. This coming weekend (1 and 2 May) the FIA GT1 World Championship will visit the renewned circuit of Silverstone (UK).

Interstate Associates develop new branding for the FIA GT1 World Championship
SRO Motorsports Group (SRO) have launched a new 2010 FIA GT1 World Championship brand identity. Having been awarded world championship status by the FIA World Motor Sport Council, next year’s FIA GT1 World Championship will visit 10 countries in four continents, supported with a new logo and identity.
The Lamborghini Murciélago LP670 RS of the ALL-INKL.com Muennich Motorsport team showed its potential but also had its share of start up problems. 
The new REITER Lamborghini LP670 R-SV can be unveiled to the public only a few months after the street version was officially presented in Geneva. The new Lamborghini GT1 race car is presented to the public at the 24-hours of Spa.
