Koiranen GP finish one-two in Barcelona Race 2
What a debut: Koiranen GP, newcomers to GP3 Series this season, certainly made an impression with a superb one-two with Aaro Vainio and rookie Kevin Korjus in their maiden race weekend. Jenzer Motorsport’s Patric Niederhauser joined the pair on the podium.

Marussia Manor Racing’s Tio Ellinas wins Race 1 in Spain
What a start to the 2013 GP3 Series for Tio Ellinas: The Cypriot becomes the first driver in GP3 history to win consecutive races in different seasons, following his victory in Monza 2012 and becoming victorious in the opening round of this year.

Auto GP racers impress in GP2 test
Five drivers in the test’s roster were coming from the Auto GP championship, started and promoted by Enzo Coloni. Daniel De Jong was probably the most surprising man in the pack. The Dutchman, who raced for the MP team and scored 5th place this season, drove for Scuderia Coloni. The team welcomed him warmly and was eager to provide him with a chance to express his full potential. He clocked the second fastest lap of the first day before rounding out the top-5 in Day 2 at his first time driving a GP2 Dallara with wet weather tires.

Pål Varhaug was quickest in the first Free Practice session of the Auto GP Portimão weekend.
The Norwegian driver of Virtuosi UK, who yesterday focused on learning the track and saved his best rubber for today, made the most of a set of fresh soft tyres to post a 1’32”655, a time that he feels can still be improved: “When I did put the fresh tyres on, I immediately felt that there was much more grip than yesterday, and with a few more laps I’m sure that I would have improved my time a lot, because in many places I could have pushed more. I’m confident for the weekend, I really love the track”.

Adrian Quaife-Hobbs topped the sheets in today’s Official Test in Portimão.
The championship leader kept momentum after his dominant performance in Hungary, and stopped the clock on a 1’32”643 that bodes really well for the race weekend. In a session where all the teams focused on set-up work and the majority of the drivers had the aim of learning the track, laptimes aren’t too relevant but Quaife-Hobbs’ performance was anyway remarkable, as he was 1” clear of the whole pack.

Chris Van der Drift is the second “king” of the Marrakech Auto GP weekend, after winning today’s race 2 with a stunning performance.
In a season that already saw 5 different winners in 6 rounds, the Kiwi driver bagged the first success for him and MP Motorsport thanks to both a masterful drive and a very good job by his pit-wall staff.

Sergey Sirotkin will start from pole position in tomorrow’s Race 1 on the Marrakech Moulay El Hassan circuit.
The Russian driver of Euronova Racing was quickest in a session that was stopped two times in the last 10 minutes, spoiling the plans of teams and drivers: the red flag was waved a first time after Yann Cunha stopped on track for a technical issue with 10 minutes to go, and again when also Giacomo Ricci’s car came to a halt with just 5 minutes to the end of the session.

Lotus ART driver sets quickest time on final day of post season testing
Today marked the final day of GP3 Series™ post-season testing at Circuito De Jerez and the teams were greeted with cool temperatures in the morning. There was just one new face in paddock with Aaro Vainio returning to Lotus ART. Tom Blomqvist switched teams to Status Grand Prix, Facu Regalia also switched to the Irish team for Day 2. Conor Daly moved back to Carlin and Fabio Gamberini to RSC Mücke Motorsport.

Cypriot driver Tio Ellinas tops Day 1 of post season testing at Circuito De Jerez for Marussia Manor Racing
The final 2011 GP3 Series™ post season test kicked off today at Circuito De Jerez in sunny but cool morning conditions. Familiar faces in the paddock included Daniel Abt who was last week’s quickest man in Valencia, and American Conor Daly who joined the German at Lotus ART.

Thirty-seven of the most promising young driver talents around the globe took part in the three-day test
Nigel Melker’s best laptime of 1:34.747 set during the final morning session at Circuito de Jerez went unbeaten this afternoon as post-season testing ended bringing the 2010 season officially to a close.

MW Arden’s Antonio Felix Da Costa was the quickest man on track at Jerez Circuit on the first day of GP3 Series testing today.
The three-day test in Spain this week is the second post-season session for the GP3 teams this month, and once again there were new faces in the paddock all set to try out the GP3 car for the first time. Arthur Pic, brother of GP2 race winner Charles, stepped behind the wheel of the #4 Status Grand Prix car.
Swiss driver Patric Niederhauser took first blood in the opening session at Barcelona with a laptime of 1:35.044 which broke the previous track record by over three seconds. 
Questnet Team Qi-MeritusGP continued its stranglehold on the Formula BMW Pacific when it won the team title for the seventh straight year while its driver Rio Haryanto won home the drivers’ crown.
