The third edition of the Team Canada Scholarship will grow to include two young Canadian drivers.
The focus will continue to be the world renown Formula Ford Festival held at Brands Hatch, England in late October. After a very successful debut in 2011 with the first Canadian on pole for the final and leading the early laps, the program continued in 2012 and once again showcased the talent that Canada has in the junior formula car ranks.

The F2000 Championship Series today announced its 2013 seven-event schedule for the Championship’s eighth season.
As always, the development Series featuring aspiring drivers and proven veterans will start the season in Virginia in April and then continue touring some of North America’s best road courses as large fields fight for race wins and a Championship.All weekends feature two races.

2013 is going to be a turning point for me
Open-wheel racing and former midget and sprint car driver Timothy Paul of Mahopac, New York, has signed an agreement to race in the Firestone Indy Lights Championship in 2014 for AJ Foyt Racing. Prior to the 2014 season, Paul, who has run competitively in the F2000 Championship Series, will spend 2013 competing in both F2000 and USF2000 in a CellMark Paper-sponsored entry to gain the maximum amount of seat time possible.

Adams now has back-to-back titles in Ontario
After a month of waiting through protests and appeals, formula ford racer Michael Adams has officially been confirmed as the Toyo Tires F1600 Champion for 2012. In arguably the tightest championship chase in racing over the course of the year, Adams emerged from a last race, last lap, last corner confrontation to secure the crown, and now adds it to his B-Class Championship from 2011.

La Rocca fist-pumping his 2012 season
After momentarily getting shuffled back to fourth on an exciting opening lap, 2012 F2000 Champion Robert La Rocca picked off two cars on lap one and then passed Rob Nicholas for the lead on the next lap to open up a huge gap en route to a record-breaking 11th win of the season for HP-Tech Motorsport. It was the fourth weekend sweep of the year for the Venezuelan in the season finale doubleheader at Watkins Glen International, winning ahead of Wyatt Gooden and Nicholas.

La Rocca took another pole in a short qualifying session
In 14 qualifying rounds now complete for the 2012 F2000 Championship Series season, Robert La Rocca, the 2012 Champion, has put his No. 10 HP-Tech Van Diemen on pole 12 times. In the final qualifying round of the year at Watkins Glen International, a shortened session left a seven-minute shootout for drivers to run their fastest laps of the weekend, producing another La Rocca pole ahead of Wyatt Gooden and Rob Nicholas.

Robert La Rocca notched his 10th win of the year
After starting from pole and briefly losing the lead, Robert La Rocca got around Wyatt Gooden and fended off Gooden on a restart, with the two cars making contact coming to the green and white flags. La Rocca would go onto take his 10th win of the 2012 F2000 Championship season, breaking the existing win record with a bit of drama. La Rocca had already locked up the Championship prior to the race, adding even more points for the pole, and yet another win. Niki Coello finished second while Gooden hung on for third with a damaged car on the last lap.

Robert La Rocca and Niki Coello were one-two in practice
Ahead of the F2000 Championship Series season finale at Watkins Glen International, 2012 Champion Robert La Rocca paced the final 35-car-strong Friday practice session on a frigid day in New York. La Rocca’s fast lap of 1:52.275 was turned just hours after sleet poured down on the 3.4-mile 11-turn road course.

BGR Team Grote made the trip to the beautiful Mont Tremblant Le Circuit for the Fall Classic and final two rounds of the Formula Tour 1600 Series and came home with two trophies.

Coello stayed out of trouble to win in the rain
Niki Coello stayed out of trouble in the wet at Summit Point Motorsports Park to take the first non-Van Diemen win in F2000 Championship Series history in the No. 81 RFR ahead of Wyatt Gooden. Meanwhile, Robert La Rocca finished third to clinch the 2012 F2000 Championship Series title with two races remaining.
