It is the third time Stewart has taken home “Best Driver” honors
Tony Stewart, three-time and reigning NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champ, last night took home the 2012 ESPY for “Best Driver” at the 20th annual ESPY Awards on ESPN, beating out four-time IZOD IndyCar Series champion Dario Franchitti, F1 champion Sebastian Vettel and NHRA champion Del Worsham.

Three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup champion crew chief Ray Evernham is returning to ESPN as a NASCAR analyst for the 2012 season
Evernham will join ESPN’s team at Daytona Speedweeks and will be part of NASCAR Countdown before the NASCAR Nationwide Series race that airs on ESPN on Saturday, Feb. 25, at noon ET. He also will appear on NASCAR Now and SportsCenter from Daytona as ESPN’s multimedia platforms surround the opening of the NASCAR season.

Ferrari’s F1 drivers are the highest-earning sportsmen in their respective countries, a new report has found.
The full analysis by ESPN The Magazine, showing 182 countries and their top-earning athletes, will be published on May 2. Felipe Massa is Brazil’s representative, with his annual retainer excluding sponsorships and bonuses listed as US $17,052,632.

Lewis Hamilton is set to drive a premier Sprint Cup NASCAR for the first time later in 2011.
American sports network ESPN reports that the McLaren driver will swap his formula one car for Tony Stewart’s Chevrolet. The exhibition, organised by mutual sponsor Mobil 1, is set to take place some time in the summer at the famous Watkins Glen road course in New York.
