The sound of F1 engines in Abu Dhabi will resume on Tuesday.
Barely a day after Kimi Raikkonen won Sunday’s thrilling grand prix at Yas Marina, the track will return to life on Tuesday when the final three day ‘young driver test’ begins. Six teams have already run their young driver days this year, so just Red Bull, McLaren, Lotus, Sauber, Toro Rosso and Caterham have stayed behind in Abu Dhabi for the session.

Ekström leads Audi 1-2-3 at Oschersleben
Three Audi drivers on the podium: the eighth DTM season round at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben took place under the sign of the four rings. In adverse weather conditions, Mattias Ekström (Audi) won from his fellow Audi drivers Martin Tomczyk and Edoardo Mortara.

End game atmosphere in Munich’s Olympiastadion
In head-to-head duels at the 1.192 kilometres long track, the 18 DTM drivers showed the spectators thrilling motorsport action. Mercedes-Benz driver Bruno Spengler made it all the way from the round of the last 16 to the finale and won the decisive battle against Audi driver Edoardo Mortara, who had been unbeaten until then.

In his 44th DTM race, Mike Rockenfeller scored his maiden victory. The 27-year old Audi driver from the German village of Neuwied started from third place on the grid into the second round of the 2011 DTM season at Zandvoort in The Netherlands, showed an error-free race with a perfect pit stop strategy and crossed the finish line as the winner after 41 laps.

2010 Formula 3 Euro Series once again a major media success
On 10th December, the Motor-Sport World Council of the International Automobile Association, FIA, has agreed upon announcing the ’FIA International Formula 3 Trophy’, thus increasing the value of the Formula 3 sport. This additional ranking embraces six already existing FIA approved Formula 3 events.

The Formula 3 Euro Series planning for the 2011 season is running flat out.
Up to 1st December, six teams already have expressed their interest in contesting the 2011 season and entered a total of 16 cars. The teams Signature, Prema Powerteam, Mücke Motorsport and Motopark Academy will continue their involvement in the series, with Performance Racing and HS Technik representing the new assets on the Euro Series grid.

Mortara fastest in Macau qualifying
Edoardo Mortara (Signature) remains the man to beat in the Macau Formula 3 Grand Prix. In the qualification race at the 6.12 kilometres long Guia circuit, the Italian drove an undisputed victory home. Laurens Vanthoor (Signature) and Daniel Abt (Signature) followed him across the finish line.

In the rain at Hockenheim, Edoardo Mortara (Signature) confirmed the strong form he had already been showing throughout the season. Having been crowned as the new champion four weeks ago already, he scored his seventh win of the season at the 3.736 kilometres long Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg.

Jim Pla (ART Grand Prix) has won the 16th season round of the Formula 3 Euro Series at the 3.969 kilometres long Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. The rookie from France was followed home by Marco Wittmann (Signature) and Nicolas Marroc (Prema Powerteam). With his second place and the retirement of his opponent Valtteri Bottas (ART Grand Prix), Wittmann is now eight points ahead of Finn Bottas in the battle for runner-up spot. Already-crowned champion Edoardo Mortara (Signature) already retired on the opening lap.

Edoardo Mortara (Signature) is the new Formula 3 Euro Series’ champion. For the 23-year old Italian, sixth place at Oschersleben was enough, as his only remaining rival Marco Wittmann (Signature) only finished one place behind Mortara. The Signature driver claimed the maiden drivers’ title in the Formula 3 Euro Series for his engine partner Volkswagen.
