2013 German GP location decision due
A decision about where next year’s German grand prix will take place is imminent, according to the SID news agency.
The Nurburgring is provisionally scheduled to host the country’s 2013 race, but amid the venue’s well-documented financial problems, it is possible Hockenheim will be asked to step in as a replacement.

Ecclestone gets married in Switzerland
81-year-old Ecclestone has used the August break to marry for the third time.
British newspapers the Daily Mail and the Sun report that F1′s famous chief executive married 35-year-old Brazilian Fabiana Flosi, who formerly worked on the marketing of the Brazilian grand prix, at his ski chalet in Gstaad, Switzerland.

No one in formula one really wants to go to Bahrain, according to the correspondent for The Times newspaper.

Council votes to put US GP back on track
It seems the next twist in the road will be efforts to move the race’s provisional debut date
The 2012 US grand prix is back on the right track after the Austin council signed off the Circuit of the Americas’ Texan state funding. After a vote was delayed last week and a dissenting new member was sworn in, it was feared a negative outcome could sound the project’s death knell.

Organisers of the European grand prix would like an earlier date on formula one calendars of the future. The streets of the Spanish port city Valencia hosted last weekend’s race, the ninth round of the original 2011 schedule and the fourth in Europe.

Gov’t rules out move for Albert Park GP

Melbourne’s formula one race will only be held at Albert Park, state government minister Louise Asher said on Monday. Her comments follow speculation that the event, criticised for costing taxpayers too much, could move to a bespoke facility to be built at nearby Avalon airport.

Rome GP ‘letter of intent’ expires in 2010 – mayor

It has emerged that Rome’s agreement about a city-based formula one race in 2012 or 2013 could lapse at the end of the year. It was reported last month that organisers of the proposed event to take place in the Italian capital’s EUR district had signed a five-year contract with Bernie Ecclestone.
Honda has pulled out of formula one to escape its huge annual budgets, but even walking away from the sport is expected to cost the beleaguered manufacturer an immense sum.
