Ecclestone confirms only 19 races for 2013
Bernie Ecclestone has confirmed that F1′s 2013 schedule will feature only 19 rounds.
Until New Jersey’s demise, this year’s calendar was set to have twenty grands prix. Ecclestone, the F1 chief executive, opened up the twentieth slot to a potential new European venue, but he said on Tuesday that he could not now fill it “at this late stage”.

Ecclestone to pen $200m sponsor deal – report
Bernie Ecclestone is tipped to sign up the airline Emirates as a major F1 sponsor on a visit to Dubai on Tuesday.
The Financial Times said the five year deal is worth “about $200m”, making it “one of the biggest” in motor sport. The report said Emirates would join formula one’s clutch of official sponsors, including UBS, Rolex, Tata and LG.

Teams ready for last-minute Bahrain axe – report
Teams are making preparations just in case the Bahrain grand prix is called off at the last minute.
That is the claim of Germany’s Auto Motor und Sport, reporting that the teams could put their back-up plans into action even as late as the Sunday in China — mere days before they are expected to be at Sakhir.

SVDP Racing to race around the clock again
SVDP Racing the Dubai based racing team have entered the 2012 edition of the Dubai 24hr race where they will be racing their BMW 120d
This will be the teams 3rd 24hr race after competing in the Britcar 24hr race at Silverstone in 2010 and the 2011 edition of the Dubai 24hr race. The team and car finished a creditable 34th overall at Silverstone (the teams 1st ever 24hr race) and 2nd in class in the 2011Dubai 24hr race.

It was announced Thursday that the GP2 Asia round 2 in Bahrain has been cancelled due to the current political situation in the small island state. This will give the GP2 Asia series a serious problem since the calendar only contain 3 rounds (6 races) and since the final round is also in Bahrain the organizers has to come up with a solution rather quickly.

As a spat between Melbourne’s Lord Mayor and Bernie Ecclestone develops, Australian Grand Prix Corporation chief Walker warned that there are plenty of alternative hosts bidding to slot onto the sport’s crammed annual calendar.

Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team-mates Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton will race at this weekend’s Monaco Grand Prix with individually crafted Steinmetz diamond crests on the steering wheels of their Formula 1 cars. As the European air chaos continues due to the Icelandic volcano cloud, Lotus has booked its entire race team on flights to Malaysia. With European airports throughout Europe still closed, the formula one circus in China is distinctly worried about how to get its staff, equipment and cars back to base.
The race was the final of the three round 2009 Nivea for Men Endurance Challenge, by winning all three rounds the NFM Professionals were also crowned champions on the day.
The ING Renault F1 Team continues its successful Roadshow programme into 2009 with a visit to Dubai from the 9th to the 12th of April. 
Former grand prix winner Jean Alesi charged his way through the pack to win Saturday’s Speedcar Series race at Dubai Autodrome, to add to his victory from the previous day.
