Riley-built Vipers make highly anticipated ALMS debut
SRT Motorsports made its long-awaited debut in the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón on Thursday in testing for the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Challenge. The two SRT Viper GTS-Rs hit the track for the first time after the manufacturer announced in April that it was bringing a two-car factory Viper program to ALMS for the first time since 2000.

Kevin Buckler’s TRG will once again field a five-car lineup in the Rolex 24 At Daytona
The Racer’s Group, one of the most successful sports car teams in history, has announced that it will bring an armada of five Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars to the 50th Anniversary Rolex 24 at Daytona in defense of its GT title from a year ago. TRG’s lineup of drivers will include defending champions, current veterans, Porsche factory drivers and more.

The forecast for this weekend’s Rolex 24 At Daytona couldn’t be better. Although central Florida did see extreme weather earlier in the week when thunderstorms and 70 mph winds left a trail of damaged structures in its wake, the storm’s effect on Daytona has been to put a shine on the preparations for one of the most iconic endurance races in motorsports.

Events leading up to crash Saturday night still hazy
The first Le Mans 24 Hours for American GT racer Bryce Miller is finished, and to say it was a whirlwind would be putting things mildly. Unfortunately for Miller at the rest of the JMW Motorsport team, the Aston Martin Vantage crashed near the six-hour mark Saturday. He tried to recollect his thoughts from the accident in his final Le Mans blog.

In the second Asian Le Mans Series race of the weekend at Okayama. While Stefan Mucke and Harold Primat dominated the second Asian Le Mans Series race at Okayama to secure victory in race two although the Sora Racing Pescarolo of Christophe Tinseau and Shinji Nakano emerged as the overall winner of the event to earn a slot in the 2010 Le Mans 24 Hours.

Dominik Farnbacher and Ian James will drive all 1,000 miles themselves in Panoz Team PTG’s Panoz Esperante GTLM at the 12th annual Petit Le Mans powered by MAZDA6. It certainly worked well in the season-opener – Farnbacher and James placed a hard-fought third in GT2.
