Driving for Team West-Tec
American, Conor Daly set the fastest time of the Spanish based Euro F3 Open championship cars during winter test session in Valencia, Spain. Driving for British based, Team West-Tec, who won the 2011 team championship, Daly completed an untroubled day other than having to deal with traffic on his final new tire run.

Just three days before his 20th birthday (December 15th), American Conor Daly will spend a day testing in Valencia, Spain on Monday December 12th with Team West-Tec in one of their F3 Euro open cars. The British based team is the current F3 Euro Open champion team.

Michael Schumacher is unapologetic in the wake of criticism of his driving at Monza.
Two weeks ago, some of the seven time world champion’s rivals, and former driver and Monza steward Derek Daly as well as commentators, said Schumacher should have been penalised for his tactics to prevent Lewis Hamilton from passing him.

Sebastien Buemi is not getting excited despite preparing to clock up a career milestone this weekend.
Blick newspaper points out that the 22-year-old Swiss, who debuted for his current team Toro Rosso as a teenager in 2009, will contest his fiftieth consecutive grand prix in Singapore. He will therefore draw level with Luca Badoer and move ahead of the career tallies of predecessors including Christian Klien and Derek Daly, and even race winner Jean-Pierre Jabouille as well as Mike Hailwood.

Stewards failed to notice an incident that should have seen Michael Schumacher penalised during the Italian grand prix.
That is the claim of former F1 driver Derek Daly, who was the third official in the stewards’ room at Monza. Since last weekend’s race, many F1 commentators and figures have suggested Schumacher should have been penalised for his antics during a scrap with Lewis Hamilton.

Stellar opening to first season for Grist

Garett Grist, two-time Team Canada member, steps into the formula car world beginning this weekend by taking on the ultra fast and challenging Mosport International Raceway in the Formula Ford division. Grist ended a busy 2010 with a trip to Italy for the 2010 Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals followed on week with the 2010 Skip Barber Karting Shootout at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterrey, CA.

Conor Daly joins a long list of talented drivers to win the Gorsline Scholarship
Daly, of Noblesville, Ind., has been selected to receive the 18th annual Gorsline Scholarship, presented by The Gorsline Company. Daly, 18, is the 2010 Formula Star Mazda champion and the son of professional racing champion Derek Daly.

Daly has announced his plans to compete with Juncos Racing in the 2010 Star Mazda Championship
After topping the time sheets at the first official series test in Sebring at the end of January with the fastest overall time of 2:00.588, the 18-year-old is more than ready to return to the Championship this season where he will race his lucky #22 car in Juncos Racing colors.

Derek Bell will serve as master of ceremonies for the event
Tickets are still available for the Sebring Hall of Fame Luncheon to be held Friday, March 19th at Sebring International Raceway.This year’s luncheon will honor 2010 inductees Hurley Haywood, John Morton, Derek Daly, Phil Walters, Reginald Smith and Michelin. Derek Bell will serve as master of ceremonies for the event. Several other racing legends will be attending the event, which begins with a reception at 11:00 a.m. ET. Dress is casual.
