Koiranen GP finish one-two in Barcelona Race 2
What a debut: Koiranen GP, newcomers to GP3 Series this season, certainly made an impression with a superb one-two with Aaro Vainio and rookie Kevin Korjus in their maiden race weekend. Jenzer Motorsport’s Patric Niederhauser joined the pair on the podium.

Marussia Manor Racing’s Tio Ellinas wins Race 1 in Spain
What a start to the 2013 GP3 Series for Tio Ellinas: The Cypriot becomes the first driver in GP3 history to win consecutive races in different seasons, following his victory in Monza 2012 and becoming victorious in the opening round of this year.

MW Arden rookie Carlos Sainz Jnr fastest in first pre-season GP3 test
Carlos Sainz Jr made it two out of two after posting the best laptime for the second day in succession with David Fumanelli (Trident) who was fastest in the morning session. It was another trouble-free day with the GP3/13 car with 833 laps covered in Estoril by the full grid of 27 drivers.

MW Arden’s David Fumanelli ends Portuguese test on top
Italian David Fumanelli finished as fastest overall on day two in a rain affected test at Estoril, Portugal. The MW Arden driver’s best lap achieved in the morning was a 1:30.261 which set a new GP3 circuit record as he also went on to claim top spot in the wet afternoon session.

Cypriot ace secures maiden win in season finale
Mitch Evans – GP3 Series 2012 Champion! The final round of the 2012 season was a weekend you could not script. Ahead of Race 2, only one man could stop the New Zealander claiming the GP3 Series crown and that was Daniel Abt, who had to win the race with a no score from Evans to steal the honours.

German rookie triumphs as Series leader Mitch Evans fails to score
Two wins in seven days. Daniel Abt claimed his maiden win in Spa and now pockets a further 25 points at Race 1 in Monza, the final round of the season. The win was vital for the German, as it has kept his championship hopes alive in a race where Series leader Mitch Evans failed to finish, and Antonio Felix Da Costa and Aaro Vainio didn’t score, thus ending their championship chances with one race remaining. Tio Ellinas and Matias Laine joined Abt on the rostrum.

MW Arden’s Mitch Evans flies to pole for Series decider in Italy
Mitch Evans has one hand on the GP3 Series championship trophy after flying to pole position in Qualifying today for Round 8 of the 2012 season. Series rival Antonio Felix Da Costa (Carlin) was just 0.020s shy of the New Zealander with David Fumanelli of MW Arden in third.

MW Arden’s Mitch Evans and Matias Laine lead the way in Free Practice
New Zealander Mitch Evans took first blood in the title fight which is set to rage this weekend at the final round of the 2012 GP3 Series in Monza, Italy. The MW Arden ace was quickest in Free Practice ahead of his teammate Matias Laine and Series rival Aaro Vainio.

MW Arden’s Matias Laine secures maiden win in Spa Race 2
We have a new race winner in GP3! Matias Laine becomes the eighth different winner in the 2012 GP3 Series season, taking his debut victory at Round 7, Race 2 at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit. Antonio Felix Da Costa (Carlin) and Conor Daly (Lotus GP) finished second and third in a thrilling encounter.

German driver Daniel Abt is content with life after taking his first win in the 2012 GP3 Series. Rookie Abt started from third on the grid and made an amazing pass on both Antonio Felix Da Costa (Carlin) and Mitch Evans (MW Arden) to claim his debut win ahead of Felix Da Costa and Evans.

MW Arden’s teammates Mitch Evans and Matias Laine quickest in qualifying
Series leader Mitch Evans made the best possible start to his weekend by claiming the vital four points on offer for pole position for Round 7 of the GP3 Series 2012. His teammate Laine will start alongside the New Zealander on the front row, with Lotus GP’s Daniel Abt in third. Evans pole laptime of 2:10.513 was a new pole record for the circuit.

Carlin’s Antonio Felix Da Costa becomes first driver in GP3 history to claim double victory
This is one weekend Portuguese driver Antonio Felix Da Costa won’t forget in hurry. After winning Race 1 yesterday, the Carlin driver started from eighth on the grid in a race dominated by strategy. He fought his way impressively through the field in the latter stages to produce a magical win, becoming the first driver in GP3 history to achieve a double victory during the race weekend. Patric Niederhauser (Jenzer Motorsport) and Tamas Pal Kiss (Atech CRS GP) finished second and third.

Carlin’s Antonio Felix Da Costa wins in style at the Hungaroring
The smile couldn’t be bigger on Antonio Felix Da Costa’s face. After starting from P2 on the grid, the Portuguese ace made the perfect getaway to claim the lead and set off into the distance to claim a very welcome 25 points, plus a further two for fastest lap. After the nightmare of two non-scores in Hockenheim for the Carlin driver, Hungary has been a happy hunting ground so far for Felix Da Costa. Daniel Abt (Lotus GP) and Mitch Evans (MW Arden) finished second and third.

Lotus GP’s Aaro Vainio dominates Hungary weekend
Finland’s Aaro Vainio is enjoying the Hungaroring this weekend. Fastest yesterday in Free Practice and again today to claim pole in dominant style! The Lotus GP driver broke the circuit record en route to the front of the grid and has clawed back points on Series leader Mitch Evans. Antonio Felix Da Costa and Evans line up second and third.
Swiss driver Patric Niederhauser took first blood in the opening session at Barcelona with a laptime of 1:35.044 which broke the previous track record by over three seconds.
