Flavio Briatore thinks Ferrari should sign Felipe Massa for another season.
The Italian team is openly undecided over its choice of teammate for Fernando Alonso next year, but former Renault boss Briatore said: “I would keep Massa for another year”. “Massa is a good driver but he should never compare his times with those of Alonso,” Italian Briatore is quoted by Corriere dello Sport.”

More than 25 drivers with formula one experience will be on the grid at this weekend’s 80th running of the fabled 24 hour Le Mans race.
Near the front, in the premier LMP1 prototype class, will be Allan McNish and Marc Gene, driving for Audi. Scot McNish raced in F1 with Toyota in 2002, while Gene drove for Minardi and is still a Ferrari test driver. Toyota has since left F1 and for 2012 has entered Le Mans, and the Japanese marque’s number 8 entry is a grand prix-superteam featuring Anthony Davidson (Super Aguri), Sebastien Buemi (Toro Rosso) and one-off 1999 Minardi driver Stephane Sarrazin.

Second straight year with 908s on Atlanta front row
Peugeot swept the front row for Petit Le Mans powered by MAZDA 2 on Friday with Anthony Davidson taking pole position with a lap of 1:07.187 at Road Atlanta. The British pilot put his Peugeot 908 HDi ahead of Pedro Lamy in the sister car by 0.222 seconds.

Peugeot strikes back in day’s only dry session
Stephane Sarrazin put Peugeot back on top at Road Atlanta on Thursday night with the quickest time in the first dry practice session of Petit Le Mans powered by MAZDA 2. The Frenchman posted a lap of 1:08.777 (132.951 mph) in his diesel-powered Peugeot 908 HDI factory prototype to nip Audi Sport’s Andre Lotterer by more than a second.

Two weeks following its first overall victory in the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón, Muscle Milk Team CytoSport and Klaus Graf set the fastest lap time in testing Thursday for the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Challenge. His lap of 1:12.841 (111.596 mph) led a very close LMP field around Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

The historic Brabham name returned to the podium in Germany this weekend, when David Brabham was crowned double top-finishing legend driver in the Volkswagen Scirocco R Cup at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben.
