Debut IRC joy for Sordo and Mini in Corsica

Dani Sordo has claimed victory on Giru di Corsica-Tour de Corse, round four of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge, following a faultless performance in a MINI John Cooper Works S2000 on his debut in the all-action series.


























Citroen’s Sebastien Loeb is the man at the top of the times post-SS11 – but Petter Solberg is right in contention in second. Citroen number one driver Sebastien Loeb leads Wales Rally GB heading into the mid-day halt, although Petter Solberg is right up there in his privately entered C4 WRC and a major threat, just 2.3 seconds adrift.
Adding another victory to his record breaking tally, today’s win was the 61st at World Championship level for the Frenchman and his co-driver Daniel Elena. The pair led the rally from beginning to end, eventually finishing 35.3 seconds ahead of the man in second place, Citroen privateer Petter Solberg.
With a stunning debut win on Rally Japan – the second of his career – in Sapporo, The 26-year-old from France started the final day 5.4 seconds adrift of overnight leader Petter Solberg in third place but moved in front with the fastest time through the first Naekawa stage.
