Pedro de la Rosa is definitely staying at HRT in 2013, the Spanish team’s boss Luis Perez-Sala has announced.
“Pedro de la Rosa will drive for us in 2013,” he is quoted by the German language Speed Week. The Spanish veteran’s current teammate is Narain Karthikeyan, but the Indian has been linked with a possible switch to Indycar. Speed Week said the presence of Karthikeyan, 35, has not brought the expected flood of Indian sponsors to HRT.

The new Yamimoto-HRT is a sporting electric bicycle with soft lines and high range components
The Caja Mágica provided the setting for the official presentation and launch of the new special edition HRT Formula 1 Team electric bicycle by Yamimoto, the team’s sustainable mobility agent. Test driver, Dani Clos, was on hand to unveil the bike alongside Spanish television presenter Paula Vázquez, who was making her first appearance at this act as the image of the Spanish electric bicycle brand.

The day has come for HRT Formula 1 Team to officially open its doors to the new headquarters at the Caja Mágica in Madrid.
Team Principal, Luis Pérez-Sala, and drivers Pedro de la Rosa, Dani Clos and Ma Qing Hua acted as the hosts of this meeting with the press, sponsors, suppliers and friends of the team. The Mayoress of Madrid, Honourable Madam Ana Botella and the President of the Spanish Motorsport Federation and Vice-President of the FIA, Mr.Carlos Gracia, wanted to accompany the team on such a special day.

“I’m delighted to have this opportunity” – Dani Clos
Spanish driver Dani Clos will step into the F112 for the first time on Friday to take part in the first free practice session of the Spanish Grand Prix which will take place at the Circuit de Catalunya. 23 year-old Clos will substitute teammate Narain Karthikeyan for that session and will join Pedro de la Rosa for the first 90 minutes of practice in Montmeló.

Lotus GP driver ends final pre-season test with another fastest laptime
Esteban Gutiérrez set the quickest laptime again in today’s final pre-season test in Barcelona. The young Mexican set a laptime of 1:29.154 in the morning session ahead of last week’s fastest man in Jerez, Davide Valsecchi. In the afternoon session, it was Frenchman Tom Dillmann at Rapax who finished top ahead of Stefano Coletti.

Venezuela GP Lazarus driver quickest on day 1 of second pre-season testing
GP2 Series 2012 pre-season testing resumed this week at Circuit de Catalunya. Four new faces joined the field: Giancarlo Serenelli at Venezuela GP Lazarus, Ricardo Teixeira and Sergio Canamasas at Rapax, and Jon Lancaster at Ocean Racing Technology.

HRT has confirmed that its 2012 car, the F112, will finally make its track debut on Monday.
Recently, the FIA barred Red Bull and Ferrari from tweaking their test schedules so that their Barcelona running could end on Monday. But struggling backmarker HRT asked its rivals for special permission, given it had yet to use its separate allowed test day for ‘filming and promotional’ purposes.

Italian ace remains top in Jerez
Davide Valsecchi confirmed his good form setting the quickest laptime of Day 2 in the 2012 pre-season testing in Jerez. The DAMS driver clocked 1:24.783 in the morning session and left the rest of the field with the task to find the extra pace to try and close the gap with the mighty Italian.

DAMS driver quickest on Day 1 of 2012 pre-season test
The GP2 Series paddock gathered in Jerez de la Frontera this week for the first of two official pre-season test sessions. After the winter break, the thirteen teams were eager to hit the track and get back to action. The field welcomed newcomers Venezuela GP Lazarus as the thirteenth team in 2012 and 2013.

Dani Clos insists he is delighted with his new role as HRT tester, despite some seeing him as little more than a ‘pay driver’.
A reporter for Spain’s Diario AS newspaper admitted to the 23-year-old from Barcelona that when he read the news about his Clos’ new role, he surmised that the driver must have some lucrative backers.
