GP3 - Lynn, Stanaway, Fontana Series leader and Red Bull Junior Team driver Alex Lynn faced one of his biggest challenges of the season today, resisting the determined efforts of Status Grand Prix’s Richie Stanaway until the chequered flag in an epic battle. GP3 - Dean Stoneman (Marussia Manor Racing) A stunning drive from Dean Stoneman saw him secure his second win of the 2014 GP3 Series season after qualifying from P11 on the grid. A race of strategy saw drivers switching from wet to slicks before the lights went out, but it was Brit’ Stoneman who handled the pressure to drive a mature race to be triumphant in Belgium. Ghiotto reigns supreme in Spa qualifying

Trident’s Luca Ghiotto storms to first pole position in debut GP3 weekend
GP3 - Luca Ghiotto (Trident) That’s how to make a first impression! Debutant Luca Ghiotto from Trident impressed the field in a wet session to claim a maiden pole position in his first race weekend by three tenths of a second. Carlin’s Emil Bernstorff will join the Italian on the front row, with Koiranen GP’s Jimmy Eriksson in third.

Rain had fallen overnight and again prior to the thirty minute qualifying session. The 26 drivers fed onto the Spa-Francorchamps circuit on wet Pirelli tyres for Round 6 of the 2014 GP3 Series. Carmen Jorda was an early victim to the conditions; the Spaniard ran wide at Turn 14 and was beached in the gravel, a premature end to her session.

GP2 Series With four rounds left in the 2014 season, DAMS’ Jolyon Palmer enjoys a 43 point lead over Carlin’s Felipe Nasr although the Brazilian has pocketed more wins. But Palmer’s impressive consistency and faultless drives have meant that he’s scored in every single race so far – he is the only driver on the grid to have accomplished this.
