Scarallo getting ready in one of the Corvettes
F2000’s Jonathan Scarallo competed in the Team USA Scholarship shootout in Arizona yesterday. The young driver is coming off a huge first-career F2000 victory at Road America and was one of the handful of drivers handpicked by Jeremy Shaw to compete in the shootout to ultimately represent the United States in the end-of-year Formula Ford events in England.

Jordan Taylor wins third GT pole position of the 2010 season
Already running at the limit, Memo Rojas was told he needed to go a little faster in Friday’s qualifying for the EMCO Gears Classic presented by KeyBank at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. He responded with a track record lap in the final minute of the 15-minute session to take the pole from Ricky Taylor.

Joao Barbosa held off Scott Pruett by 50.494 seconds to win Sunday’s 48th running of the Rolex 24 At Daytona, giving Action Express Racing victory in its debut race. Terry Borcheller, Mike Rockenfeller and Ryan Dalziel shared the No. 9 Porsche Riley

Atlantic Championship News & Notes
After a history-making 2009 Atlantic Championship season in which she became the winningest woman in series history, Simona De Silvestro had a successful two-day test in an HVM Racing/Team Stargate Worlds IndyCar at Sebring International Raceway last week with an eye toward a possible run in the 2010 IZOD IndyCar Series. “She was very impressive,” said HVM Racing owner Keith Wiggins.

Daytona Prototypes, GT cars participate on 2010 Pirelli tires for first time on Tuesday. All 24 cars that were entered for the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16 December Test Days, a two-day Pirelli Tire Test at Daytona International Speedway, participated Tuesday in preparation for next month’s Rolex 24 At Daytona, held on Jan. 30-31, 2010.
