Podium finish for Lazare at Summer Classic
Jesse Lazare was back in action at the historic Mt-Tremblant Circuit last weekend at the Summer Classic in his #21 Door Doctor BGR Piper DF5. Once again it was a new track for the 15-year-old, but he came to grips with the tough Mt-Tremblant circuit quicky.

“What a great weekend for BGR and our driver Jesse Lazare!” – Brian Graham
15 year old Jesse Lazare aboard his Piper DF5/Honda impressed as he made his debut in the Formula Tour 1600 Series this past weekend at the famous Circuit Mont-Tremblant. His first ever laps on the world class track came during the promoters test day on the Thursday. As he had done two weeks prior at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park (Mosport) he quickly came to grips with the high speed facility and was comfortably in the top 10. Marc Bishara had two solid races and continues to learn and set some personal best laps in the process.

The leading F1600 Team has taken delivery of its first car and expects the second car in just a few weeks.

The reigning OFFC Champions and Rookie of the Year winner in both the OFFC and Quebec based Formula Tour 1600 will field at least two Piper DF5′s this season as well as support any customer owned cars in Canada.

Team Canada Scholarship to the festival announces finalists!

With the half-way point of the season now past, the selections have been made, and it was clear that Canada has a great number of young up and coming drivers who could all represent our country well! The 3 finalists will be gathering for an intensive interview process on August 29th, and shortly thereafter, one driver will be selected to be the very first winner of the annual Scholarship. The interviews will take place at Mosport International Raceway, the world renowned track known for producing some of this country’s greatest drivers.

The search for the first driver to win the inaugural Team Canada Scholarship to the Festival is heating up. For the principals of BGR Sports and Entertainment, (BGR S & E), Gerry Merz, Dave Matkovich, and Brian Graham, founders of Team Canada Scholarship, the task of selecting the driver to represent Canada at the 2011 Formula Ford Festival at Brands Hatch is in full swing.

Championship title hadly fought

The 2010 Ontario Formula Ford Championship wrapped up recently with the final rounds at the historic Mosport International Raceway. Proving to be one of the most competitive seasons in memory with both the FFA and FFB championships only decided in the last laps of the season.
