After contesting his 309th and final grand prix in Brazil late next month, Michael Schumacher will keep his ‘Silberpfeil’.
Bild am Sonntag newspaper said Mercedes will give the W03 ‘Silver Arrow’ to the great seven time world champion as a parting gift, before he makes room at the team for Lewis Hamilton in 2013. The German newspaper said the ‘step nose’ single seater is worth about EUR 1 million.

According to the latest buzz in the Singapore paddock, the ‘Lewis Hamilton saga’ could be almost at the finish line.
Previously, it was rumoured the McLaren driver was so close to agreeing a switch to Mercedes next year that Michael Schumacher had started looking around for a new team. Writing in Kleine Zeitung newspaper, correspondent Karin Sturm even revealed she had spotted Schumacher’s manager Sabine Kehm talking in the paddock with Peter Sauber and Monisha Kaltenborn.

Charlie Whiting has pointed a finger of criticism at Michael Schumacher and Mercedes in the wake of the recent Hungarian grand prix.
The Hungaroring race start was delayed when Schumacher, who at 43 is F1′s oldest active driver, lined up on the wrong grid slot. Marshals then had to push the great German’s Mercedes off the grid after he deliberately stopped the engine, forgetting that the race re-start procedure had been changed way back in 2005.

Contrary to his earlier promise, Bernie Ecclestone in fact did not show up at Hockenheim on Saturday.
David Tremayne wrote in the Independent that the F1 paddock had spent the day playing “where’s Bernie?” The F1 chief executive’s absence – unusual for a European race but not unheard of – heightened speculation he is afraid of being arrested.

Michael Schumacher’s brother has tipped the seven time world champion to keep racing beyond his 44th birthday.
Schumacher’s Mercedes deal runs out this year, but talks about a new contract for 2013 are yet to be discussed. Ralf Schumacher, also a grand prix winner and six years younger than his more famous sibling, was asked by Bild am Sonntag newspaper about Michael’s recent anti-Pirelli outburst.

Bild am Sonntag said Mercedes already knows Hamilton after powering his F3 title in 2005.
Lewis Hamilton has been earmarked by Mercedes as a potential replacement for Michael Schumacher beyond the end of this season. That is the claim of the German Sunday newspaper Bild am Sonntag, following the Stuttgart marque’s recent denial that Schumacher has already been offered a new two-year contract for 2013 and 2014.

The former Force India driver’s two-day trial, over the alleged assault of Lotus team executive Eric Lux, is set to begin in Munich. Reports allege Lux was cut on the neck with a broken champagne glass after attempting to eject the German from a private VIP room at the M1nt nightclub in Shanghai last April.
