May 11-13, Spain’s Montmeló circuit will be witness to a first in the history of Ocean Racing Technology.

The Portuguese team that has been involved in the GP2 Series since 2009 will be making its start in the younger sister series, the GP3 Series.

Kevin Ceccon will be joining Carmen Jorda and Robert Cregan to form the official driver line-up for Ocean Racing Technology in the GP3 Series.

At the tender age of 18, the Italian driver already has solid experience in auto racing, but like his new team he will have to learn the GP3 Series. Kevin Ceccon is the reigning AutoGP champion. In 2011, he added several races in the GP2 Series to his CV, and also took part in Scuderia Toro Rosso’s F1 tests in Abu Dhabi.

Alberto Cerqui, winner of the 2011 Rookie title as well as the Italian Superstars Championship, lined-up for a full day of testing aboard an AutoGP racecar, a prize ride which was offered to him by Superstars Series as a part of the “Rookie of the year 2012” competition.

18 drivers are on track today in Magione for the first day of the Auto GP promotional test.

It’s a really varied line-up for both what concerns experience and nationality, given that the Italian tarmac hosted drivers from seven different countries, with three Champions among them. Campos Racing went on track with the Italian Superstars Champion Alberto Cerqui and Facundo Regalia, F3 racer from Argentina.

DAMS team will race in the non-championship GP2 final in Abu Dhabi on 12-13 November with two new drivers. Two days of test in Jerez

The quick break followed to the last round of the 2011 GP2 Series season is already over. Next week, Trident Racing will be back on-track at the Spanish Jerez De La Frontera race course, for the first collective test of the offseason. Teams and drivers will be on-track on Wednesday and Thursday.
