Romain Grosjean has admitted to relief, after Lotus this week ended a long period of speculation about the Frenchman’s future.
After his often impressive yet error-strewn return to F1 this year, the 26-year-old Frenchman admitted he genuinely feared for his race seat. “I am happy and relieved,” Grosjean told France’s RMC Sport.

Champion Vettel slams rivals’ ‘dirty tricks’
Fernando Alonso and Ferrari’s supporters were clinging to hope even after Sebastian Vettel sealed his third consecutive world championship on Sunday. After sealing his third consecutive drivers’ title on Sunday, Sebastian Vettel bemoaned the “dirty tricks” his rivals deployed to try to stop him.

All eyes are further down the grid as the 2012 world championship reaches its zenith on race-day Sunday at the Interlagos showdown.
Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel has qualified just fourth, behind teammate Mark Webber. “It was not a perfect lap,” Dr Helmut Marko told German RTL television, “but we don’t absolutely have to win this race, we need to look out for Alonso.” Triple world champion Niki Lauda said he senses a “slight nervousness” about Vettel in Brazil.

Lotus is finally getting up-and-running with a state of the art driver simulator, the Dutch website formule1.nl reports.
Romain Grosjean said he got his first taste of the new technology whilst preparing recently for Austin’s brand new Circuit of the Americas layout. “I spent half a day in the simulator,” said the Frenchman.

On paper, Sebastian Vettel is the overwhelming favourite to seal his third consecutive drivers’ crown this weekend in Brazil.
His 13-point lead over Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso means he can steer his ultra-competitive Red Bull to just fourth place at Interlagos and still set off for his winter slumber with the title. “But Alonso still must win,” Red Bull’s Dr Helmut Marko is quoted by Speed Week. “He must take the risk. That’s the important thing.”

Bob Fernley, the day-to-day team boss at Force India, has backed Ferrari’s decision to deliberately penalise Felipe Massa in Austin.
The Italian team was roundly criticised for tampering with Brazilian Massa’s long-life gearbox for no other reason than to incur a five-place penalty that switched title-fighting teammate Fernando Alonso to the ‘clean’ side of the grid. Ferrari’s immediate competitors, Red Bull and McLaren, said they wouldn’t have made a similar decision.

As was rumoured before F1 arrived in Austin last week, the latest developments for Fernando Alonso’s title-contending Ferrari did not work. New pieces, including a new diffuser, were tried in a straight line at the Idiada facility in Spain, prior to the US grand prix.

Romain Grosjean has admitted he is yet to sign on the dotted line for 2013.
Early this week, as publications mused the likely shape of the 2013 grid, it emerged there could still be question marks about Lotus’ next lineup. On paper, the team is expected to keep the Eric Boullier-linked fellow Frenchman Grosjean, who is strongly backed by important team sponsor Total.

F1 will have its championship finale in Brazil next Sunday, after Sebastian Vettel failed to win the US grand prix.
But Red Bull’s German further expanded his points lead over his never-say-die title rival Fernando Alonso in Austin, with the gap now 13 points with just the twentieth race of the season in Sao Paulo still lying ahead.

Hamilton denies Vettel the victory, as the Championship goes down to the wire!
Lewis Hamilton has taken a historic victory at the brand-new Circuit of the Americas, in what was an absolutely enthralling United States Grand Prix. The Briton was followed home by Sebastian Vettel, with Fernando Alonso a distant 3rd. Red Bull have therefore secured their third Constructors’ Championship.
