The calamitous Bahrain grand prix saga has not jeopardised the island Kingdom’s future on the F1 calendar.
That is the strident claim of Bernie Ecclestone, after the F1 chief executive and FIA president Jean Todt displayed rare unity as they insisted the country’s civil and political problems would not affect the grand prix.

Argentina looks set to replace Korea on the 2013 formula one calendar.
That is the claim of Italy’s Autosprint magazine, reporting that the Argentinean national government will sign a three-year contract next month. President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner said last month that the 2013 Argentine grand prix, last held at the ageing Autodromo Oscar Alfredo Galvez in Buenos Aires in 1998, will take place on the streets of the coastal city of Mar del Plata.

Argentina is close to returning to the formula one calendar, the president of South America’s second-largest country has revealed.
EFE news agency quotes Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner as saying it is likely an Argentine grand prix, last held at the ageing Autodromo Oscar Alfredo Galvez in Buenos Aires in 1998, will take place in November or December 2013.

Hong Kong has taken its “first step” towards the formula one calendar.
That step was a F1 single seater demonstration put on by Red Bull in the Chinese city-state featuring Jaime Alguersuari. Automobile association president Wesley Wan is quoted by AFP as admitting Hong Kong is interested in staging a proper grand prix “one day”.

Swiss GT driver Joel Camathias (27), alongside his team-mate, Argentine driver José Manuel Balbiani (30), driving the # 78 BMS Scuderia Italia Ferrari F430 GT, is looking forward to the last race of the FIA GT Championship, hoping to finish a positive season with a good result.
