Norwich student team crowned F1 in Schools UK national champions
A team of students from Sprowston Community High School, Norwich, raced to victory at the F1 in Schools™ UK National Finals 2013 held this week at the Big Bang Young Scientists and Engineers Fair at ExCeL, London, winning them a place at the F1 in Schools World Finals 2013 to be staged in Austin, Texas alongside the 2013 FORMULA 1™ UNITED STATES GRAND PRIX.

The return of Formula 1™ to the United States last year was the natural impetus for F1 in Schools
The leading global educational initiative, F1 in Schools™, has announced it will stage its ninth World Finals event in Austin, Texas, next year, alongside the 2013 FORMULA 1 UNITED STATES GRAND PRIX to be held at Circuit of The Americas in November. It will be the first time that the F1 in Schools World Finals will have been held in the United States, with the 2012 event having taken place at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi.

A lively, warm and friendly ‘gift-exchange’ lunch brought together the grid of 33 F1 in Schools™ World Finalist teams at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Abu Dhabi today, a prelude to the start of the racing action for the eighth F1 in Schools World Finals.

A work placement at the multiple World Championship winning Formula 1™ team is highly prestigious
Mark Nanney, a member of Unitus Racing, the 2010 F1 in Schools™ World Champions from USA recently completed a work placement at Vodafone McLaren Mercedes F1 team, an experience which will stay with him for many years to come.

F1 in Schools™ eighth World Finals will be held in Abu Dhabi from 29th October to 31st October, with this prestigious event being held to coincide with the 2012 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Bernie Ecclestone, President and CEO, Formula One Management, presented the newly crowned 2011 F1 in Schools™ World Champions with the trophy which he commissioned especially for this global educational initiative, meeting the winning Australian team, Pentagliders, in the paddock at the Singtel Formula 1™ Singapore Grand Prix.

Excitement is building for winning teams from the 2011 F1 in Schools UK National Finals with the approach of the 2011 Formula 1™ Santander British Grand Prix, as students prepare to experience a day to remember courtesy of Formula One Management and Silverstone Circuits. Throughout the Grand Prix weekend the student teams will have an opportunity to soak up the atmosphere and witness first-hand one of the most prestigious sporting events on the calendar.

USA’s largest motor racing industry show
The newly crowned F1 in Schools World Champions 2010, an American team from James Madison Middle School and Southeast High School, UNITUS RACING, will be showcasing this global educational technology initiative at the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Show in Orlando, Florida, next month. The team competed with 24 other F1 In Schools teams from 18 different countries to capture the title for the USA.

The national winners of F1 in Schools in 2009, ‘Velocity’, from St John Payne Catholic Comprehensive School in Chelmsford, Essex, were treated to a day to remember when they visited Williams F1’s headquarters at Grove in Oxfordshire recently.
