Green-White-Checkered pass secures third career Canadian Tire Series win
L.P. Dumoulin finally got the oval-track win he was looking for. The road-course ace from Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, came out on top in a wild green-white-checkered finish to the Velocity Prairie Thunder 250 Wednesday in NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 action at Auto Clearing Motor Speedway.
Stefan Rzadzinski finishes 11th
The NASCAR Canadian Tire Series (NCATS) presented by Mobil 1 concluded its annual western swing on Wednesday night July 16 at the Auto Clearing Motor Speedway in Saskatoon with Alex Tagliani posting his best career oval finish in this series with a fifth place in the Velocity Prairie Thunder 250, round 5 of 11 of the 2014 schedule. The previous best finish in eight oval starts for the No 18 EpiPen/Dicom Express Dodge Challenger driver was seventh at Barrie Speedway in 2008.

He showed that Friday night as he picked up the win in the Alberta Has Energy 300 in the inaugural event at Edmonton International Raceway.

Louis-Philippe Dumoulin has crossed the finish line in second place yesterday on the oval track of the Edmonton International Raceway. Despite the race being punctuated with twelves cautions, including two red flags, the driver of the #47 Dodge WeatherTech Canada/ Bellemare, in collaboration with crew chief Mario Gosselin, King Autosport, has been able to maintain his place among the leaders with great agility throughout the event (315 laps).

With 45 laps to go in the Friday July 11th NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 short-track oval race under the lights in Edmonton, Alberta, NASCAR flashed the stat that only 5 series races had been won wire-to-wire, and those were on road courses.

First of two
Road America will be Alex Tagliani’s first of two scheduled appearances in the seat of the No. 22 Discount Tire Ford Mustang in 2014. After a merry-go-round of drivers, including Ryan Blaney, Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano, Tagliani will also make an appearance behind the wheel of the No. 22 Mustang at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in August.
