2013 McLaren driver Sergio Perez is being managed by former Indycar driver and fellow Mexican Adrian Fernandez.
McLaren, who have signed current Sauber driver Perez to replace Lewis Hamilton, confirmed the 22-year-old’s professional link to Fernandez, 47. Fernandez – an owner of racing teams as well – has also been backed through his career by Perez’s sponsor Telmex, but Fernandez denied Perez is still a “pay driver”.












Two weeks following its first overall victory in the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón, Muscle Milk Team CytoSport and Klaus Graf set the fastest lap time in testing Thursday for the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Challenge. His lap of 1:12.841 (111.596 mph) led a very close LMP field around Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
Simon Pagenaud and Patrón Highcroft Racing won a titanic battle with Aston Martin Racing’s Adrian Fernandez to win the Tequila Patrón American Le Mans Series at Long Beach on Saturday with a last-lap pass in his HPD ARX-01c. The young Frenchman beat Fernandez across the line by 0.353 seconds. 
Adrian Fernandez made himself quite at home – again – at the historic Long Beach circuit Friday. The Mexican racing legend captured his first overall pole position in the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón with a lap of 1:13.213 (96.770 mph) in Aston Martin Racing’s Lola-Aston Martin prototype coupe for the Tequila Patrón American Le Mans Series at Long Beach.
Needless to say, designers at Aston Martin and Lola didn’t quite have the historic Long Beach street circuit in mind when they built Aston Martin Racing’s sleek closed-top Lola-Aston Martin prototype. Distance-wise, two laps at Long Beach is a little more than one pass down the famed Mulsanne Straight.
The confines of the historic Long Beach circuit proved friendly again for Adrian Fernandez. The Mexican star and veteran of 16 open-wheel and sports car races turned the fastest time in Friday morning’s opening practice for the Tequila Patrón American Le Mans Series at Long Beach. 
Alexander Wurz’s outlap after his final stop was quick enough for an overall victory for himself and Team Peugeot Total teammates Marc Gene and Anthony Davidson. Wurz drove his diesel-powered Peugeot 908 HDi FAP to a 13.817-second win at the 58th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh from Florida, a first in the event for the famed French marque.
Aston Martin Racing ended the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón’s annual Winter Test at the top of the time sheets but with a lot of work to do for the 2010 season opener. The factory Aston Martin-powered Lola B09/60 set the fastest time Tuesday with a lap of 1:46.894 (124.609 mph) at Sebring International Raceway.
The 2010 American Le Mans Series Winter Test at Sebring International Raceway will feature a number of historic moments as the countdown continues to the 58th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh from Florida.
All along, Adrian Fernandez said he felt like he still had a lot to offer in sports car racing. The Mexican star has his chance to prove he’s right after Aston Martin Racing announced him as an official factory driver for its LMP1 program in 2010.
They received highly sought after awards voted on by fans of the American Le Mans Series. Diaz, reigning LMP2 champion, received the Most Popular Driver Award while Fehan, Corvette Racing program manager, won his second straight From the Fans award.
Patrón Highcroft Racing had its own special ride as well at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca to close the 2009 American Le Mans Series. De Ferran and Simon Pagenaud won the Monterey Sports Car Championships presented by Patrón after the retiring Brazilian legend’s thrilling duel with Adrian Fernandez in the final 30 minutes of the four-hour classic.
Adrian Fernandez turned in the best time in the first official practice session Friday morning for the Monterey Sports Car Championships presented by Patrón. The Mexican driving legend turned a best lap of 1:13.311 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and the final race of the American Le Mans Series season.
