The 2012 will kick off with the traditional NH Governor’s Cup 150 at Lee USA Speedway
Veteran American Canadian Tour (ACT) stock car racer Randy Potter of Groveton, NH filed the first full season entry for the 10-event 2012 ACT Tour. Potter and his Lancaster Auto Sales/Speedway Sports Park Chevrolet team were recently honored at the ACT Banquet of Champions for their 5th place finish in the 2011 standings.

Jimmy “Scruffy” Linardy receives MacTavish Award
The American Canadian Tour (ACT) crowned Brian Hoar of Williston, VT and Patrick Laperle of St-Denis, Quebec as the ACT Tour and Série ACT Castrol stock car racing champions respectively, at the ACT Banquet of Champions on Saturday, January 21 at the Double Tree Inn in Burlington, VT.

The American Canadian Tour (ACT) announced today that the top teams of the US-based ACT Tour, the Quebec based ACT Castrol Series, and Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl will receive in excess of $100,000 in championship point fund awards at the season-ending ACT banquets to be held in December, 2011 and January, 2012.

Hoar, Laperle, O’Donnell claim ACT titles
Hudson, New Hampshire’s Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. claimed the American-Canadian Tour Rent-A-Wreck Fall Foliage 200 win at Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh, New York on Saturday, October 8. Polewarczyk claimed his first ACT point race win of the season in the combination ACT Tour and Série ACT Castrol event.

For the first time in American Canadian Tour Late Model history
The season will come to a close with a doubleheader weekend. The ACT Tour, Série ACT Castrol and Bond/WIX Tiger Tour point battles will conclude on Saturday, October 8 with the Rent-A-Wreck Fall Foliage 200 at Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh, NY.

The race wasn’t decided until the final corner
Eddie MacDonald of Rowley, Massachusetts claimed his second American Canadian Tour Invitational after a thrilling battle with Barre, Vermont’s Nick Sweet at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH on Saturday, September 24. MacDonald and Sweet swapped the lead four times over the final 15 laps of the 50 mile event on the “Magic Mile.”

The impressive 43 car field will be ready to roll at 5:30pm on Saturday
Nearly half of the 43 drivers in the third annual ACT Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday, September 24 has a Late Model Championship to their name. Twenty competitors ready to tackle the “Magic Mile” this Saturday have scored a Late Model championship in a series or track in the Northeast or Eastern Canada.

The 150 lap event saw just three cautions
Farmington, ME’s Jeff Taylor claimed his first career ACT win after a race long battle with Wayne Helliwell, Jr. in the Beech Ridge 150 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, ME on Saturday, July 30. Taylor and Helliwell, both in Ford powered rides, swapped the lead seven times from lap 44 to the checkers. The two battled not only themselves but also heavy lapped traffic during long green flag runs.

The defending track champion started 8th
Barre, VT’s Nick Sweet claimed his second straight Merchants Bank 150 win at Thunder Road International Speedbowl on Sunday, May 1. The defending track champion came from his 8th starting position to take the lead from Joey Polewarczyk, Jr. on lap 91. Sweet would work his way through lap traffic with ease and never relinquished the lead for the remainder of the event.

Hayward is now the ninth ACT competitor to earn himself an invite to the second annual ACT Invitational
Newport, NH’s Mark Hayward earned his first career ACT Late Model Tour win at Twin State Speedway in Claremont, NH on Friday, July 30. Hayward took the lead from Twin State regular Aaron Fellows, who led the first 52 laps of the 100 lap event. Hayward held off the likes of Ben Rowe, current ACT Tour point leader Brian Hoar and Randy Potter over the remaining 48 laps to take the win.

NH’s Joey “Pole” Polewarczyk, Jr. earned Ford its first ACT Late Model Tour win at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, ME on Saturday, July 24. Pole moved from his fourth starting position to take the lead on lap 14. He held the lead and lapped the majority of the field until lap 83.

A total of 50 cars attempted to qualify with 33 making the starting grid
Rowley MA’s Eddie MacDonald took the checkers in the second ACT Late Model Tour event at Oxford Plains Speedway on Saturday, June 19. MacDonald led the last 43 laps of the 150 lap event after taking the lead from current ACT Late Model Tour point leader Brian Hoar.

Dragon has already qualified for the ACT Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway
Milton’s Brent Dragon dominates the final half of the second annual Showdown at Chaudiere 200 at Autodrome Chaudiere and leads the U.S. team to the overall victory. The first 91 laps saw a battle between former Serie ACT Castrol champion Karl Allard and current ACT Tour point leader Scott Payea.

The American Canadian Tour (ACT) announced today that over a 30-day period from August 29th through September 27th there would be purses posted of over a quarter million dollars for Late Model race teams in the Northeast and Canada.

First career win at Thunder Road International Speedbowl
Young Joey “Pole” Polewarczyk, Jr. of Hudson, NH scores his first career win at Thunder Road International Speedbowl in the CARQUEST Governor’s Cup 150. Pole got by Jamie Fisher to take the lead shortly after a restart with just under 100 laps to go. Nick Sweet then worked his way to second and setup the battle of the race. Pole and Sweet ran side by side and worked their way through lap traffic before a lap 145 caution staged a shootout for the win.
The 36th Annual Furniture World of Vermont Spring Green 100 scheduled for this Saturday, May 8 at Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh, NY has been postponed due to forecasted heavy rains.
