A festive and explosive downtown


At  the 41st Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières weekend

During the last press conference of July 28th, the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres presented the bunch or free activities that will be from August 11th to August 14th 2010 in downtown. This huge program is now possible because of the subvention from the Canada Government with the Marquee Tourism Events Program.

Everything will begin Wednesday August 11th 2010 to 7h30 pm with the presentation of the concerts of Goodmess, Hazeover, Kim Ray and the Grandes dames du blues on the big stage on Badeau Street.

The next day, August 12th 2010, will stand the traditional banquet of the Amis du Grand Prix at the Delta Hotel from 6h00 pm. At 7h00 pm, the visitors will be invited to the first event “Le cirque en villeâ€.

This event will offer to the public some acrobatic feats, public demonstrations, fire eaters and the peak point, a ferries wheel on Badeau Street with view on Des Forges Street from Thursday to Saturday. These public prestations will begin to 5h30 pm and will be spread on 5 places, either Hart Street, Bank National’s corner, to the big stage on Badeau Street, in front of the Mauricie’s place and on the little stage of Bourg du fleuve.

The third activities night will put in front the band Triple-x with a tribute to ZZ Top on Badeau Street, to continue the first part given on the Terrace’s stage to the Grand Prix. The event in downtown will stand Friday August 13th 2010 from 10h00 pm on the big stage on Badeau Street.

The activities will continue on Saturday August 14th 2010 with the comeback of the Bolo’s night including live art presentation and the projection of Kino 3r movies. We would like to mention the collaboration of the restaurant Le Carlito, also bars Le Trèfle, Le Temple and L’Embuscade for the organization or these free activities in downtown.

Finally will stand the wonderful fireworks La Magie des Feux Loto-Québec in collaboration with the Groupe Thomas-Bellemare and Distribution Toiture Mauricienne to the harbor park to 10h00 pm. This show promise to be as big as the 2009 edition, where the visitors have been present in a huge crowd.

The show’s music will be rebroadcasted live on 100.1 Rythme FM. The visitors who want a seat for this event will be able to benefit of bench at the public’s disposition.

A first wave of 400 tickets will be subject to a surprise-drawing this Sunday August 1st to the Carrefour Trois-Rivieres Ouest and 400 others tickets will be sale for 10$.

The public and visitors of downtown are invited to use a shuttle organized in partnership with STTR from 3 mall to Champlain park from 8h30 pm to 11h30 pm for Saturday night.
