The Spanish Tarmac rally Championship finishes this weekend

In Madrid with the Shalymar Rally, which will have among its entrants Subaru Rally Team Spain. There will be three Impreza Prodrive prepared by KRS competing in the last asphalt event of the 2009 season, adding to the two usual cars of the Subaru Spain works team, driven by Enrique García Ojeda and Mario Ceballos, with a third one for Javier Polidura. 

For Ojeda his participation in the Shalymar brings back great memories, since it was last year in this same rally when he was proclaimed Champion of Spain. On this occasion, the Cantabrian driver arrives at the last rally of the year with chances of the national title in group N and the runner up position in the overall championship.

This after a very good first season at the wheel of the Subaru Impreza Prodrive prepared by KRS, with the win obtained in the Cantabria Infinita rally being an historic milestone for the Japanese model since it was its first victory on asphalt in a national level event.

Ceballos for his part will complete, in the stages held in the north of Madrid, his first full campaign in the Championship of Spain, in which his progression at the wheel of the KRS’s Subaru has been constant, with ever improving results while acquiring important experience in the events of the national series.

Javier Polidura who, in the recent rally Costa Brava managed to finish his first rally of the Spanish Championship, will seek to repeat that feat on the Shalymar, an event in which he will compete for the first time and that should help him to learn more of the Impreza Prodrive prepared by KRS, as Madrid will be his third rally with the car since his debut in Cobreces.

The Shalymar Rally will be held over two days, with three special stages on Friday night with the rally being completed on Saturday with eight more timed stages. More information about the event can be found on the official website www.shalymar.es.
