The 2012 MotoGP™ season got off to a flying start last weekend with a thrilling race taking place under the lights of the Losail International Circuit in Qatar.

The legendary Tour de Corse, round four of the 2012 Intercontinental Rally Challenge, will be shown live on Eurosport in May.

Five stages of the famous rally will be broadcast as they happen, with both runs of Erbajolo-Pont d’Altiani on Friday 11 May and the three passes of Marinca-Cagnano, which includes the final stage of the rally, on Saturday 12 May covered live on Eurosport and Eurosport Player.

With 2012 Auto GP welcomed Kumho Tyres as its Official Tyre Supplier.

The Korean manufacturer was eager to support the championship in his decision to provide drivers and teams two different compounds for each race weekend, and even decided to go for a purpose designed “supersoft” tyre for Marrakech, to help the Auto GP competitors in coping with the low level of grip typical of street tracks.

After scoring one win and a podium finish at Monza, the Jaguar racer looks forward to Imola

The seventh season of Max Pigoli in the Superstars Series has already proved great and the FG GROUP-promoted championship took-off in style at Monza, close to his hometown, Como. In front of 31.000 people, he cruised to win in Race 1 aboard a Jaguar XFR, followed by rookie Andrea Larini. The Team Romeo Ferraris man topped CAAL Racing’s Vitantonio Liuzzi, who rebounded to a sensational Race 2 win in front of Pigoli himself.

Bernie Ecclestone has admitted F1 teams will breach their contracts if they do not race in Bahrain next weekend.

Earlier, as the controversy surrounding the sport’s continued plans to travel to the troubled island Kingdom deepens, an unnamed team boss admitted his peers would prefer if the event was called off.

McLaren remains “the team to beat” despite the topsy-turvy outcome of the recent Malaysian grand prix.

That is the claim of reigning world champion Sebastian Vettel, having slumped to sixth in the drivers’ standings after a dire weekend in Malaysia. The formerly-dominant Red Bull driver now lags a Ferrari and even a Sauber, after Fernando Alonso and the unlikely Sergio Perez proved the cream of the slippery Sepang circuit.

The Sauber F1 Team takes protecting the environment extremely seriously.

On 3rd April 2012 the Sauber Group’s environment management system was awarded ISO 14001 certification. The certificate was presented today at the company’s headquarters in Hinwil. ISO 14001 is the most widely established standard in this area worldwide, and certification attests that the team meets all the stated requirements.

A respected F1 correspondent is expecting F1′s 2012 calendar to shrink to eighteen races this year.

Livio Oricchio, who writes for Brazil’s O Estado de S.Paulo, thinks the sport is now on the verge of cancelling next weekend’s visit to Bahrain. And he also thinks November’s US grand prix, scheduled to take place at the brand new Circuit of the Americas in Austin, is in doubt.
