Upgraded 2012-spec F2 car leads to two seconds quicker lap times
Markus Pommer headed the timesheets during today’s (Wednesday) official FIA Formula Two Championship test at the Silverstone GP circuit. The session also marked the first outing for the new upgraded 2012-spec F2 car, which lapped the circuit two seconds quicker than during last year’s pre-season test.

Team Eager to Race Following Eight-week Schedule Break
AIM Autosport Team FXDD is excitedly looking forward to racing its Ferrari 458 Italia GT Grand-Am in the upcoming race at Barber Motorsports Park, near Birmingham, Ala., the site of round two of the 2012 Rolex Sports Car Series. The team has been hard at work during the eight-week break since the season opener, the Fiftieth Anniversary Rolex 24 at Daytona. Making its racing debut, the FXDD Ferrari 458 finished eighth in the gruelling 24-hour race.

This year, the Euro Series once again will feature a competitive international grid
The first tests at the circuits of Valencia and Barcelona are completed and the preparations for the forthcoming season are running flat out: on the final weekend in April (27th to 29th April, 2012), the Formula 3 Euro Series is going to kick off its 10th season at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg.

21 year-old from Brazil
After Sten Pentus another newcomer will join Auto GP World Series in Valencia, it’s Yann Cunha, who will drive the #23 entry of Ombra Racing on the Spanish track. A 21 year-old from Brazil, Cunha has been a strong F3 contender in the last few seasons, clinching wins both in South America and in Europe.

The FIA could sanction F1′s reigning back-to-back world champion for his behaviour during the recent Malaysian grand prix.
Before calling backmarker Narain Karthikeyan a “gherkin” and “idiot” in the wake of their collision, Sebastian Vettel was captured by his on-board camera twice displaying his middle-finger to the Indian driver. “I think he’s highly frustrated because he’s having a tough season,” Karthikeyan told the Deccan Chronicle on Wednesday.

Red Bull has hit back at claims the team lied about a technical problem in Malaysia in order to gain a tactical advantage for the forthcoming races. Near the end of the Sepang race, Sebastian Vettel’s engineer repeatedly instructed the back-to-back world champion to retire his RB8 car.

Ferrari’s new deal for the 2013 Concorde Agreement reportedly involves a $50 million annual fee.
It is believed the Italian team has now finalised its commercial agreement with Bernie Ecclestone. The same is reportedly true for fellow top teams McLaren and Red Bull, whose annual additional fee is, according to German newsmagazine Der Spiegel, $35m apiece.

While Fernando Alonso leads the drivers’ world championship at present
Amid his performance slump and rumours Sergio Perez will soon replace him, Ferrari’s struggling Felipe Massa has been summoned to Maranello. A report on the Italian team’s official website said there is “sorrow” within the team at witnessing the “particularly difficult time” being suffered by Ferrari’s Brazilian driver.

Bruno Senna has admitted he feels a release of pressure following a strong showing in Malaysia last weekend.
The Brazilian, whose uncle was the great triple world champion Ayrton Senna, has had a tough time establishing his credentials to date with part-time seats at the HRT and Renault (now Lotus) teams.

Adrian Sutil has admitted that discovering Lewis Hamilton was not a friend was one of life’s “disappointments”.
Since their F3 days as teammates, Sutil and Hamilton have been arguably the closest pair of friends in the formula one paddock. That changed, however, when the German driver was charged with assaulting Lotus team executive Eric Lux, and Hamilton was summoned as a witness to the Shanghai nightclub incident.
