Lotus Racing set for tarmac and grassroots

American Canadian Tour veteran Claude Leclerc of Lanoraie, Quebec has filed a full season entry for the 2012 Série ACT Castrol season. Leclerc is coming off an 8th place effort on the series in 2011. It was his fifth straight top ten in the final standings.

Monza, Official Test: Campana tops the timesheets
Italian F3 champion Sergio Campana emerged as the quickest at the end of the first official test of the 2012 Auto GP World Series.
After a morning session that saw the teams focus mainly on the set-up with used tyres, in the afternoon all the outfits on track went for performance using all the sets of tyres available. Laptimes dropped especially in the last hour, when all the cars were fitted with soft tyres and the session became a sort of qualifying practice.

Brawn admits Mercedes ‘slower than Red Bull’
Ross Brawn has admitted Mercedes’ new 2012 car is not ready to take on the best teams in formula one.
“We are slower than Red Bull; we need to find more speed,” the Briton plainly told Germany’s Auto Motor und Sport. Other team figures for the German marque’s Brackley outfit this week said the target for 2012 is third place, with the title not a realistic goal until 2014.
