The first two qualifying heats took place today in each classes.
As a reminder, drivers will race in three heat races and they score points in each. After the 3rd heat, top 28 in the standings point system will go directly to the final round on Saturday while the last 6 spots available will be determined by the Second chance race.

Final Round : Rally of the Tall Pines…
Antoine L’Estage (of St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, QC) and his co-driver Nathalie Richard (of Halifax, Nova Scotia) are set to contest this weekend’s Rally of the Tall Pines, in Bancroft (Ontario), the last round of the 2011 Canadian and North American Rally Championships. For the Rockstar Royal Group duo, this event will be an opportunity to claim yet another victory and conclude their 2011 on a high note after already clinching the Canadian and North American titles earlier this year.

Red Bull Racing is pleased to announce that SKY, the largest high-definition satellite TV provider in Latin America, will once again join the team as a Race Partner for the Brazilian Grand Prix. Following the team’s success last year in Brazil, when Red Bull Racing claimed the 2010 Constructors’ Championship, the partnership has been increased for this year.

Online auction of one-off helmet to boost Japanese aid from Music for Relief
Sauber F1 Team driver Kamui Kobayashi will be lining up on the Sao Paulo grid for the FIA Formula One World Championship final wearing a special helmet design in a good cause. An encounter with rock band Linkin Park in Singapore sparked the idea for a helmet auction to support aid for Japan through the internationally renowned charity organisation Music for Relief, initiated by Linkin Park.

Charouz got his first taste of the F111 last week at the Young Driver Test in Abu Dhabi
Czech driver Jan Charouz will be behind the wheel of the #23 F111 and partner Daniel Ricciardo for the first free practice session at the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace. Charouz got his first taste of the F111 last week at the Young Driver Test in Abu Dhabi where he completed 56 laps, summing up a total of 311 kilometres and qualifying him for a Superlicence, which enables him to drive this week.

Reigning champions Lotus ART and Daniel Apt quickest on Day 2 in Valencia
Today marked the final day of GP3 Series™ second post-season testing at Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo, and the teams were greeted with sunny but cool conditions in the morning. There were some new faces in the paddock with GP3 runner-up James Calado returning for the day with reigning champions Lotus ART alongside Aaro Vainio. Gabby Chaves joined Status Grand Prix and Alex Fontana joined Tech 1 Racing.

Russian Round presentation, new championship identity and 25 exciting years
Infront Motor Sports, the organizers and promoters of the FIM Superbike World Championship, will be embarking on a visit to Moscow this week for the presentation of the Russian Round of the championship, which will be held on the morning of Friday 25 November. Infront Motor Sports, together with their partners YMS Promotion, are organizing the event at one of Moscow’s top hotels, the Lotte Hotel, in the centre of the Russian capital.

Ferrari will be happy with the move towards even softer tyre compounds for 2012, Pirelli’s F1 chief Paul Hembery has admitted.
The famous Italian team has struggled on the harder compounds offered this year by the sport’s new tyre supplier.
Next year the compounds will be generally softer, Hembery said during an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Lewis Hamilton is “sure” he will be treated badly by some Felipe Massa fans during this weekend’s Brazilian grand prix.
In 2008, Briton Hamilton gutted the excitable and highly partisan Interlagos crowd by pipping Brazilian Massa to the world championship. And throughout this season the pair have been at odds with a series of on and off-track incidents.
Sao Paulo stages the last Grand Prix of the 2011 season and Vitantonio Liuzzi has decided to make the most of the occasion by wearing what will be his last helmet of the season.
