Additional details of BHA’s 2012 program will be announced in the coming weeks.
A partnership between Bryan Herta Autosport and Lotus Motorsport was officially unveiled today during a press conference held at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Bryan Herta was on hand for the announcement which will see the Indianapolis 500 winning team enter the IZOD IndyCar Series as a full-time participant in 2012 utilizing the Lotus V-6 powerplant.

The Prema driver flew around the Chinese street track to take provisional pole position in first qualifying, becoming the first Spaniard in history to achieve the feat. But the day ended on the receiving end of a severe grid penalty for Saturday’s opening race.

Ceccon: “F1 test was a very exciting experience”
With today’s afternoon session in Abu Dhabi, Kevin Ceccon closed his first F1 experience. The Auto GP reigning champion had the opportunity to drive for one and a half day the Toro Rosso STR6 that usually belongs to Jaime Alguersuari and Sebastien Buemi and immediately made the most of the chance, showing a steady improving trend and impressing the Italian team’s technical staff with both his quickness and ability to complete a complex programme with a faultless performance.

Roberto Merhi already moved up to the top of the time sheets at the start of the first qualifying session.
Roberto Merhi (Prema Powerteam, 2:28.860 minutes), the reigning Formula 3 Euro Series champion, showed off his skills in first qualifying for the 58th Macau Grand Prix. At the rain-soaked 6.12 kilometres long Guia circuit, the Spaniard set the fastest time from Marco Wittmann (Signature, 2:30.535 minutes) and Felipe Nasr (Carlin, 2:30.639 minutes).

Multiple Formula 1 grand prix winner David Coulthard will compete against a star-studded field at December’s Race Of Champions
Coulthard won a total of 13 F1 grands prix, finishing no less than five times in the world championship top three in over a decade at the top. The Scotsman, who now commentates for the BBC and competes in DTM, joins three F1 world champions in the field for ROC 2011 in Düsseldorf.

Vitaly Petrov has admitted he might be in breach of contract for a rant against his F1 team Renault in the Russian press.
He started by telling Russian television Rossiya 2 that the Enstone based team’s development of its 2011 car has not been good enough due to early problems with the unique forward-mounted engine exhausts.

Mosport International Raceway will have a new look when it opens for business in 2012. The first arches were put in place on November 15 as the construction of the new tunnel between Corners 9 and 10 nears completion. The tunnel will accommodate two-way traffic for tractor trailers as well as pedestrians.
