Bruno Spengler will not be starting from pole position for the seventh DTM season round
The Franco-Canadian had used an unmarked tyre in free practice, he will be docked two places on the starting grid on Sunday. Even when he should end up fastest in qualifying on Saturday afternoon, he would start only from third place. Spengler has already been fastest in four of the six qualifyings held so far this season.

Carlos Checa (Althea Racing Ducati) set a new Nürburgring best lap of 1 minute 54.144 seconds early in the final Tissot-Superpole session to claim his fifth top starting position this year. Behind, Eugene Laverty (Yamaha World Superbike Team), Max Biaggi (Aprilia Alitalia) and Marco Melandri (Yamaha World Superbike Team) completed the front row, with Biaggi particularly impressive as he was riding with an broken bone in his injured left foot.

Lola-Mazdas on front row; BMW Team RLL’s Werner takes GT pole
Dyson Racing’s Guy Smith captured pole position Friday for the inaugural Baltimore Grand Prix with a lap of 1:27.750 around the new 12-turn, 2.1-mile street circuit. Smith was quickest in each of Friday’s three sessions for the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón in his Mazda-powered Lola coupe.

Round 13: San Marino GP – Qualifying
Casey Stoner secured his eighth pole position of the season in Misano today, and in doing so set a new circuit pole position record. The old record was set by the Australian in 2008 in the era of tyre competition on Bridgestone’s high-grip qualifying tyres, but now in the Official Tyre Supplier era there are no qualifying tyres meaning that Stoner’s new record was set on race rubber.

Sergei Afanasiev will be the poleman for the first race of the Auto GP weekend in Valencia, that will start today at 1.35 PM.
The Russian driver posted a 1’23”436, a laptime that allowed him to take the top spot in the final stages of a thrillingly-close session that saw the top three drivers packed in just 0”08 and 12 competitors in just eight tenths. So the DAMS driver managed to keep momentum after his impressive performances in Oschersleben, and got an ideal start to a weekend where his aim is to further reduce the gap from championship leader Kevin Ceccon.
