Brett McCormick completed a perfect weekend at Shannonville Motorsport Park on Sunday by winning the third round of the Canadian Superbike Championship by Parts Canada.

The 27-year old defended his first position from start to finish and thus claims back the lead in the battle for the title.

Now that was nothing for people with weak nerves. In the fifth season round of the DTM at the Norisring, heavy rain determined the drivers’ tactics. Canadian Mercedes-Benz driver Bruno Spengler did it perfectly.

The Hungaroring Circuit in Hungary allowed Robert Wickens an opportunity to showcase his racing credentials this weekend as the Canadian was forced to race his way through the field for points in Round 6 of the 2011 Formula Renault 3.5 Series – the Carlin driver recording 5th and 7th place finishes respectively.

F2000 Championship Series…

At the wheel of his Dimensions Doors / Novatech openwheel Van Diemen, Quebecker Rémy Audette contested this weekend’s doubleheader, marking the mid-point of the F2000 Championship Series. As the only Quebecker registered in this series, Audette claimed another “Top 5″ finish, allowing him to keep his lead at the head of the overall series rankings.

Formula 3 Euro Series Norisring race 3 report

Marco Wittmann (Signature) decided the 15th season round of the Formula 3 Euro Series at the 2.3 kilometres long Norisring in his favour. On a wet track, the 21-year old scored a lights-to-flag win and thus moved up to second place in the drivers’ standings. Roberto Merhi (Prema Powerteam) finished second, but remains the Formula 3 Euro Series points’ leader. His margin over Wittmann is currently 31 points. Daniel Abt (Signature) took the flag in third place.

Bratt and Zanella finish on the podium to keep up title pressure

Mirko Bortolotti completed a clean sweep in the FIA Formula Two Championship at the Nürburgring today (Sunday), following up this morning’s pole position with another well-judged victory and fastest lap. The Austro-Italian’s domination of the Eifel circuit gives him a handy lead over Christopher Zanella in the championship at the halfway point.

Local man Hegewald goes second with Will Bratt third

Mirko Bortolotti has taken his second pole position of the weekend at the Nürburgring today (Sunday), with a lap four tenths faster than his pole lap from yesterday. The Austro-Italian will line up alongside local driver Tobias Hegewald for today’s race, the second of the meeting.
