In Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada
When a broken ball joint ended the day for pole sitter Perry Bortolotti on lap one, Quebec’s Martin Harvey picked up where he left off after yesterday’s racing, dicing with Shaun McKaigue through the entire 26-lap Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada race in the Grand Prix ICAR.

Two Cars at the Mirabel GP …
The Media Racing Team contested this weekend’s Grand Prix ICAR de Mirabel, where a doubleheader was held for the Canadian Touring Car Championship competitors. At the wheel of their Scion tC’s, Luc Lesage and Jocelyn Fecteau had mixed results but came away from the races with a positive overall feeling as both of the Scion drivers finished the two races, including a top 5 for Luc Lesage.

The third win of 2011 didn’t come easy for Audette in a huge field

Remy Audette made it two wins at Watkins Glen in two days, three on the season, and added to his quickly growing championship lead on a Sunday in New York. Audette, now with an impressive six-straight top four finishes, started second and had to fight his way to the point in the #21 Audette Racing Van Diemen from third place, passing Chris Livengood and then Tim Minor for the lead a few laps later. Livengood held on to finish second ahead of Minor, who wins the Masters Class.

Kautz dropped back to 11th and passed Valet for the win with two laps to go

Tim Kautz somehow recovered from an opening lap excursion that sent him back to 11th place to win at Watkins Glen in his #88 Piper/Ford. It was Kautz’s second win of the year, and fourth straight top-five finish. Bill Valet finished a very-close second, after winning on Saturday, in an entertaining closing-stages battle with Kautz. John Robinson rounded off the podium.

A fantastic backdrop for the third round of the DTM at the Red Bull Ring in Austria. At the re-opened circuit, 48,000 fans witnessed a DTM weekend with everything that makes the most popular international touring car series stand out. On Sunday afternoon, they hailed the victory by Audi driver Martin Tomczyk.

Michel Nykjær performed, but got a puncture
Tiago Monteiro succeeded in his daring bid to secure two points finishes, bringing home a total of 16 points, in Hungary. For the fourth meeting of the FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC), the Portuguese SEAT Sun Red driver was still driving the old version of the SEAT León, powered by a TDI engine, which he managed to move up to finish in 7th place in the first race and 5th in the second.

“For me, it was a perfect race” – Daniel Juncadella

From pole position, Daniel Juncadella (Prema Powerteam) won the twelfth season round of the Formula 3 Euro Series. At the 4.326 kilometres long Red Bull Ring in Styria, the Spaniard took the lead at the start and went on to win the race with a five seconds’ margin over Nigel Melker (Mücke Motorsport).

Descoste was never seriously contested in the last half of the race

Veteran Série ACT Castrol competitor Daniel Descoste of St-Joseph-du-Lac, Quebec earned his first career win on the series in the St-Eustache 100 at Autodrome St-Eustache in St-Eustache, Quebec. Descoste worked his way by 2010 Série ACT Castrol Champion Karl Allard on lap 66 and was never seriously contested in the remainder of the 100 lap event.

Winthrop, Maine’s Jeff White earned his first career American Canadian Tour win in dominant fashion at his hometrack of Oxford Plains Speedway on Saturday, June 4. White led all but three laps in the Big JAB 150 while battling with seven time and defending ACT Champion Brian Hoar.
