Round 2: Spanish GP – Qualifying
Casey Stoner continued his strong form this weekend to set his first pole position in the premier class at the Jerez circuit today, just ahead of Repsol Honda teammate Dani Pedrosa. Jorge Lorenzo will start tomorrow’s Spanish Grand Prix from third for the Yamaha Factory team, finishing just 0.003seconds adrift of Pedrosa.

Nigel Melker (Mücke Motorsport) has won the season opener of the 2011 Formula 3 Euro Series
Swedish driver Felix Rosenqvist (Mücke Motorsport) completed the success for German team Mücke Motorsport by finishing second, 4.09 seconds behind the winner. Third place went to Spaniard Daniel Juncadella (Prema Powerteam). Thus, drivers with a Mercedes-Benz engine locked out the podium.
Having failed to retain his lead all the way to the finish in the first Formula 3 Euro Series’ race at the 5.791 kilometres long Circuit Paul Ricard at Le Castellet, Spaniard Roberto Merhi (Prema Powerteam) came good in the second race.
