Red Bull to race Infiniti-branded engines in F1
It is believed Ghosn, who is president and co-chairman of Nissan, will make the announcement.
The Renault engines used by reigning world champions Red Bull are set to be rebranded as ‘Infiniti’ for the 2011 season. Infiniti is the premium division of the Japanese carmaker Nissan, which is also headed by Renault chief executive Carlos Ghosn.

Jenson Button has acknowledged the possibility that McLaren might not be on the pace early in the 2011 season. The MP4-26 has been hailed as the bravest of the new class of 2011, but Button and Lewis Hamilton have not strongly featured on the timesheets as reliability problems slowed development work.

McLaren has become a third formula one team to say it has no plans to join rival Williams in floating shares on the stock market. With Oxfordshire based Williams’ 27 per cent floatation on the Frankfurt exchange to begin later this week, rival team owner Peter Sauber said recently he didn’t “understand the reasons” behind the decision.

Williams’ radical gearbox hard to copy – Michael
“A gearbox is a completely different kettle of fish”.
Sam Michael is confident Williams’ innovative 2011 car will be hard for the British team’s rivals to copy. The Oxfordshire based team’s technical director singled out only four innovations of note among the class of 2011: Renault and Red Bull’s exhaust systems, the Toro Rosso double-floor, and Williams’ ultra compact and low gearbox.

Report – nine teams sticking with original test dates
Sauber, Force India stick with original test dates
Up to nine of F1′s twelve teams are reportedly sticking with the originally scheduled dates for the final pre-season test in Barcelona. It had been reported elsewhere that all the teams had agreed to move the four-day test, rescheduled due to the Bahrain cancellation, from 8-11 to 9-12 March.

The 2010 Canadian, American, and North American Rally Champions, Antoine L’Estage of St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Qc and Nathalie Richard of Halifax, NS won ten of the first twelve competitive stages to build up a lead as high as 44 seconds at Missouri’s Rally of the 100 Acre Wood.

Ever since his first sessions in the official IMS tests at Phillip Island earlier this week Carlos Checa (Althea Racing Ducati) made himself a force to be reckoned with in front of 63,200 spectators at Phillip Island. On the opening day of the new season the Superpole winner made himself a convincing double race winner.

Hamilton to drive NASCAR at Watkins Glen
Lewis Hamilton is set to drive a premier Sprint Cup NASCAR for the first time later in 2011.
American sports network ESPN reports that the McLaren driver will swap his formula one car for Tony Stewart’s Chevrolet. The exhibition, organised by mutual sponsor Mobil 1, is set to take place some time in the summer at the famous Watkins Glen road course in New York.

Bahrain, travellers, hoping for rescheduled race
The Kingdom of Bahrain is still hoping its formula one race can be rescheduled for later in 2011.
Some observers are concerned there is no room on this year’s crammed calendar for a rescheduled race, following the cancellation of the season opener due to unrest in the Gulf state. But Bahrain’s Economic Development Board chairman Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa told CNN: “Bahrain is still seeking the possibility of hosting the much-awaited race later this year.”
