The first round of the Florida Winter Tour was presented last weekend in Orlando Florida. With only a few tests on the new Birel equipment, SRA Karting showed lots of speed trough out the weekend and came back to Québec with two podiums, a victory for Alexandre Tagliani on Saturday and a second place on Sunday.

The Force India F1 Team is delighted to confirm it has finalised its driver line-up for the 2011 FIA Formula One World Championship season. Following weeks of speculation, Adrian Sutil will continue with the Silverstone-based team for a fifth consecutive season and will be joined by Paul di Resta, who will make his Formula One race debut.

Austrian Marko hinted that Vettel’s dominance last year was muted only by technical setbacks.
There would never have been a single mention of team orders at Red Bull had Sebastian Vettel enjoyed a run of technical reliability in 2010. That is the claim of Helmut Marko, Red Bull’s ever-controversial driver manager and motor racing right-hand man to team owner Dietrich Mateschitz.

Nico Rosberg has shrugged off his allocation of the higher car number at Mercedes for the second season in succession.
Last year, with Michael Schumacher coming out of retirement, Rosberg agreed to relinquish the lower number 3 because the returning seven time world champion is “a bit superstitious” and prefers to wear odd race numbers.

Cecotto completes Super Nova Line-up for GP2 Asia
Having finished third in the 2008 ATS Formel 3 Cup, Johnny had his first taste of GP2 machinery in 2009 where he impressed at his first race weekend in Monza. Last year Johnny again showed his ability at GP2 level, whilst enduring a troubled season. Super Nova is confident that his talent can be realised in GP2 Asia and hope that this relationship can be carried on into the Main Series.

Main Pirelli tyre tester Pedro de la Rosa’s contract runs out in a few days
Lucas di Grassi could become a test driver with the sport’s new official tyre supplier Pirelli in 2011. After just a single season on the grid, the Brazilian has lost his Virgin drive for 2011 to the better-funded Belgian Jerome d’Ambrosio.

“Throughout his career, Michael from time to time has been susceptible to simulator sickness”
‘Simulator sickness’ does not explain Michael Schumacher’s disappointing return to F1 alongside Nico Rosberg in 2010. That was the gist of a statement issued by Mercedes following reports this week that the seven time world champion did not work in the team’s Brackley simulator last year due to motion sickness.

Toro Rosso will use Ferrari’s KERS system in 2011
Helmut Marko has kept firing amid the war of words between 2010 championship rivals Red Bull and Ferrari. Marko recently likened Ferrari’s hiring of strategy boss Neil Martin as a move to poach Red Bull’s “spirit”, prompting Luca di Montezemolo’s retort that the Austrian team doesn’t “know how to behave as champions”.

Riley Going for Ten At Daytona
Riley Technologies will pursue an unprecedented seventh consecutive overall race victory in the Rolex 24 At Daytona this weekend at Daytona International Speedway. Should the effort prove successful, it would also mark the tenth victory in fifteen years for a Riley-designed machine in the huge endurance event. With 75 wins in the category, the Riley Technologies MkXI and XX Daytona Prototype designs have been a dominant force in GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series competition.
Mad-Croc is to remain a Premium Partner of Sauber Motorsport. The logo of the UK-based producer of energy gum, chews and drinks will now be added to the air deflectors on the sides of the monocoque of the Sauber F1 Team race cars.
