Jacques Villeneuve, Kyle Shewfelt, Patrick Roy, Chantal Petitclerc, Clara Hughes, Jean-Luc Brassard, Dr. Roger Jackson and Bob Ackles will be the newest members of Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame.

‘Pay drivers’ keep existing names worried about future
“It’s massively worse than it was a few years ago”
An increasing trend for ‘pay drivers’ in formula one is casting a pall over the futures of many of the sport’s existing names. Even Rubens Barrichello, the most experienced driver in the sport’s history, is having to wait for Williams to evaluate the talent of the well-funded new GP2 champion Pastor Maldonado in Abu Dhabi later this month.

Sutil ready to stay at Force India in 2011
Sutil said it will take at least another two weeks before the deal is sealed.
Adrian Sutil on Thursday confirmed reports he looks set to stay another season with Force India in 2011. The German had flirted with moves to Renault or Williams but admitted at Interlagos that he is now leaning towards signing a new deal with his long-time employer.
The weather could be a precursor to a wet weekend at the Brazilian circuit, which a year ago hosted a famously drenched qualifying session.

As the 2010 world championship battles heats up, so too is the competitive rivalry between Red Bull’s teammates. Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel are openly not friends, but with just two races to go this season and 14 points between them, some believe Vettel should now be helping his Australian teammate to the title. “I am not giving up,” 23-year-old German Vettel said on Thursday in an interview with the DPA press agency.

Ecclestone ‘not sure’ F1 to be in HD in 2011

The likelihood that F1 will be broadcast in high definition next year has taken a backwards step. Bernie Ecclestone boosted the hopes of F1′s global television audience in September when he indicated the sport will be moving to HD “probably next year”.

Whilst still a main contender for the 2010 title, Mark Webber insists his own expectations for the season have already been met. “I am totally relaxed and looking forward to the last races,” the Australian told the Swiss newspaper Blick in Sao Paulo.

Di Grassi admits risk of losing Virgin race cockpit
Giedo van der Garde will almost certainly replace him for 2011
Lucas di Grassi has admitted there is a risk he will not stay with the Virgin team beyond the 2010 season. The Brazilian made his debut with the new British team this year, but the Belgian newspaper La Libre is reporting that Dutchman Giedo van der Garde will almost certainly replace him for 2011.

Shanghai must improve track before 2011 race – FIA
“The homologation licence for the Shanghai International Circuit has expired”
China’s Shanghai circuit must improve its track surface and rain drainage before hosting its eighth grand prix next April. The huge and impressive facility cost $240 million to build ahead of its 2004 debut, but has been given only a provisional date on the 20-race 2011 calendar.
