Homestead-Miami pre-race report

This is it, the finale event of the 2010, 17-race IZOD IndyCar Series schedule that will take place this weekend at the 2.414-kilometer Homestead-Miami Speedway oval. For FAZZT Race Team driver Alex Tagliani, this will be his second race at the South Florida oval track, but his first since 2000 when he qualified fourth and finished ninth as a rookie in the Champ Car Series.






Juncos Racing successfully landed all four of its cars in the top seven positions in this morning’s first official practice session at Road Atlanta, resulting in the best all-around practice session the team has had this season.
After spending the entire season criss-crossing the continent, Robertson Racing won’t have far to travel for the final round of the 2010 American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patron. That’s because the team’s Braselton headquarters is just around the corner from Road Atlanta, home to the Petit Le Mans powered by Mazda 2 season finale (29 September – 2 October).
The 5th round of the Canadian Rally Championship will take place this coming weekend out of Merritt, British Columbia, a small vicinity north-east of Vancouver nested in the Rockies. After five events and ten races the maths are keeping six drivers in contention for the title. With 19 points up for grabs in the Italian weekend, the list of possible winners goes from Romain Grosjean, Series leader with 42 points, to Carlos Iaconelli, in sixth place 18 points adrift. 









NASCAR announced today that Derek White has earned the 2010 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 Rookie of the Year honors after finishing 14th in the overall final point standings.
Junior formula car drivers who want to step up their game in 2011 can get the new season off to a rousing start by competing in the $25,000 Cooper Tires Winterfest, a special five-race series in Florida this coming January organized by the “Cooper Tires Presents the USF2000 National Championship Powered by Mazda.”
Saturday Race1: After qualifying on Pole in Masters, Jonathan Labbee made it up on the podium and took 3rd place behind Pat Sweeney and Gord Ross. In the beginning the battle was good but unfortunately the race finished under full course yellow robbing Labbee of the opportunity to gain positions.
