Mercedes GP looks set to secure another sponsor.
The German source sponsors.de reports that Allianz, the Munich based global insurance group, will soon be added to the livery of the Silver Arrows. Previously, the company invested about EUR 10 million in formula one through its trackside sponsorship programme, in addition to a 750,000 sponsor deal with Williams.

Entries from across the globe compete to be chosen as Bruno Senna’s race helmet design. Now the public will cast its vote.
Over 500 entries have been received for a special competition to celebrate the birth of legendary racing driver, Ayrton Senna, 50 years ago this year. Artists from as far afield as Japan and Costa Rica, South Africa and Norway, have submitted their designs to be considered for a commemorative helmet to be worn by Ayrton’s nephew, Bruno Senna, later in the current Formula One World Championship season.

Sauber Motorsport announces a driver change
From the Singapore Grand Prix, 23rd to 26th of September 2010, until the end of the season Nick Heidfeld will be driving the second C29 alongside Japan’s Kamui Kobayashi. Thirty three-year-old Heidfeld from Germany replaces Spaniard Pedro de la Rosa (39). The team’s contract with Nick Heidfeld comes into effect on Friday, 17th September.

“We should all thank Lewis Hamilton for his stupid mistake at Monza”
F1 aficionados should thank Lewis Hamilton for the thrilling five-race sprint to the 2010 world championship crown, according to Niki Lauda. Had the 2008 world champion not crashed his McLaren on the first lap at Monza, he would probably now have a clear points advantage with just Singapore, Suzuka, Korea, Brazil and Abu Dhabi left to run.

Williams has delayed the announcement of its drivers for 2011 because the British team is considering whether or not to retain Nico Hulkenberg. That is the suggestion of Rubens Barrichello, amid widespread expectations the Brazilian veteran has now signed a new contract to stay with the Cosworth-powered team next year.

F-duct will make another appearance at Vairano this Thursday
Toro Rosso is back in action this week as the Italian team bids to get its blown exhaust and F-duct up and running as soon as possible. At Monza on Friday morning, six grands prix from the end of the 2010 season, the Faenza based squad became the last of the established teams to run the technical innovations.

Speculation is rising once again that Virgin is considering a change to its driver line-up for the 2011 season. Team boss John Booth earlier played down reports he is considering replacing Lucas di Grassi with Jerome d’Ambrosio.

Fitzpatrick currently holds the top spot, but only with a precarious 21-point lead
Having won the 2006 and final CASCAR Super Series title, JR Fitzpatrick already has his name in a record book and can call himself a champion. However, he wants to add his name to another list and be called a NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 champion.

After a conservative run to fourth place in Silverstone 1000 Kilometres
The final race of this year’s Le Mans Series, was more than sufficient to secure an unprecedented second set of LMP2 titles for RML AD Group. With a total of 75 points, the team’s regular pairing of Mike Newton and Thomas Erdos reclaim the drivers’ title they last won in 2007, while RML also collect the 2010 LMP2 team title.

First in Canadian Champiopnship
The Subaru team of Patrick Richard and co-driver Alan Ockwell took second place in the 2010 Rallye Defi. Even though the team pushed hard and won half the competitive stages, they were never able to close the time deficit after a flat tire early in the race. The victory went to Antoine L’Estage and co-driver Nathalie Richard.

But Quaife delighted with maiden Le Mans Series season
Despite a frustrating end to the 2010 Le Mans Series season at his home race, the Silverstone 1000kms, Kent-based racing driver Phil Quaife has spoken of his delight at a strong rookie year in one of the world’s premier sportscar endurance racing championships.
Jesse Lazare was back in action this past weekend at the penultimate round of the Coupe de Montreal, and the newly nationally ranked #1 Rotax Junior driver was determined to show that he deserved that ranking.
Aston Martin Racing factory driver Sam Hancock ended the 2010 Le Mans Series season with fourth place overall and best of the petrol-powered cars at the Silverstone 1000kms.
The final eight (8) teams have been notified that they will be invited to attend this coming weekend’s second annual ACT Invitational at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH. 
For the remaining six races in the Italian F3 Championship, Eleonora Marcone, the team’s sporting director, has announced.
