The team first visit to the tri-oval
The drivers of the IZOD IndyCar Series will participate in their third consecutive weekend of racing this Saturday at the 2.086-km Kentucky Speedway tri-oval located in Sparta, Kentucky. Once again, drivers will only have 60 minutes of practice on Friday morning to set their cars for the lone qualifying session scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m. later that day.

New date should not conflict with NAPA 200 in Montreal as it did in 2010
Just days after the American Le Mans Series, presented by Tequila Patrón cars roared into Mosport for their only Canadian stop of the season, the Series has announced that the 2011 date for the Mobil 1 presents the Grand Prix of Mosport will be July 21-24.

The next Pirelli test will take place in two weeks in Spain.
Pirelli continued its formula one tyre development programme this week. After Nick Heidfeld tried the Italian marque’s 2011 prototypes for the first time recently at Mugello, the German was back at the wheel of the 2009 Toyota for two more days at Paul Ricard in France.

Renault F1 has scoffed at reports suggesting its former French carmaker parent is considering buying back the Enstone based team. Amid the car sales crisis and economic downturn, and the damaging crashgate scandal, Renault SA sold a rumoured 85 per cent of the team that still bears its name to Luxembourg-based investment firm Genii Capital.

Force India pays its bills on time and will continue to receive Mercedes engines beyond 2010, Norbert Haug has confirmed. It was reported from Spa-Francorchamps last week that Red Bull could be set to switch from Renault power next year, with Force India to lose its current Mercedes deal.

Sakon Yamamoto is set to keep his race seat at HRT for the rest of the 2010 season.
Reportedly with healthy personal sponsorship, the Japanese initially ousted the Spanish team’s regular Bruno Senna at Silverstone in July. Senna returned to his cockpit for Hockenheim, reportedly with the assurance he will keep his seat for the remainder of 2010.

Peter Sauber and Gerhard Berger have denied reports the pair are set to share ownership of the Hinwil based formula one team. With former Sauber owner BMW pulling out at the end of last year, and Berger no longer co-owning the Toro Rosso team, it had been suggested the Austrian former ten time grand prix winner could use the opportunity to return to F1.
