Jordan Szoke made Canadian motorcycle racing history at Atlantic Motorsport Park on Sunday as he won the final round of the Parts Canada Superbike Championship. The victory gave the Brantford, Ont. rider a perfect season of seven race wins from seven starts.

Scarallo won in style at Road America
Jonathan Scarallo survived an epic drafting battle between four cars and then took the lead with two laps to go and gapped Daniel Erickson to take his first career F2000 victory in style for R-Sport at Road America. Erickson came home second for Primus Racing/Quantum Mechanics with Keith McCrone, Scarallo’s R-Sport teammate, finishing third and taking the Masters Class win.

Portuguese António Félix da Costa (Motopark Academy) secured the second win of the season for the Motopark Academy team. At the 3.629 kilometres long Nürburgring sprint circuit, the rookie took the lead at the start and kept Marco Wittmann (Signature) at bay for the remainder of the race.

Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas scored a dominating victory in Saturday’s Crown Royal 200 at Watkins Glen International, tying the single-season GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series victory record with their seventh triumph of 2010.

Back markers end promise of top-three finish at Watkins Glen
AIM Autosport’s Pacific Mobile/Biosign car was classified eleventh in the Daytona Prototype class (23rd overall) yesterday at Watkins Glen International after being knocked out of third place with 25 minutes remaining in the Crown Royal 200.

Erickson set a new track record and took pole
Championship points leader Victor Carbone snuck around Jonathan Scarallo on the start and then passed Daniel Erickson for the lead to go onto victory in the first F2000 race of the weekend at Road America. The Brazilian wasted no time in taking the top spot early in the race and then breaking the draft to take his sixth win of the season in round 11 at Road America over Daniel Erickson and Stevan McAleer.

Alex Ellis (St Catharines, Ontario, Canada) has won the Jim Russell “Race of Champions” title after winning the fifth and sixth rounds respectively at the Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, CA yesterday (August 6). 2010 Jim Russell Future Driver Ellis now looks ahead to making his Firestone Indy Lights début at the Infineon Raceway when he contests the Carneros 100 at Sonoma on August 22 – his spectacular prize for triumphing in the Jim Russell “shoot-out” races.
