The flexible cars controversy slowed down the previously dominant Red Bull team at Spa-Francorchamps, according to Jenson Button. Although the Austrian owned team claims the long straights of the Belgian circuit simply did not suit the RB6, McLaren’s Button suspects Adrian Newey had to modify the car to meet more stringent bodywork flexibility tests.

Sebastian Vettel should not have been penalised for losing control at Spa-Francorchamps.
That is the opinion of an unlikely supporter of the 23-year-old Red Bull driver: Marc Gene. Spaniard Gene is Ferrari’s occasional test driver, who said the drive-through penalty after Vettel crashed into Jenson Button on Sunday “was totally disproportionate”.

Italy’s La Repubblica said the Red Bull driver gets involved in incidents “at every race”. “He could easily have won this world title, but now it is certain that he will not,” said the major Rome-based newspaper.

With six and possibly just five races to go in 2010, the psychological games are now well and truly in play by the main players. After the Belgian GP on Sunday, McLaren’s Martin Whitmarsh denounced Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel as a “crash kid” for his “junior formula” crash into Jenson Button.

The rumours have also been played down by Mercedes
Renault’s formula one team has rubbished rumours suggesting the pacesetting Red Bull Racing is set to switch engine suppliers for 2011. The rumour has already been denied by Force India, who were apparently to the be the recipient of the Renault power plant next year while Red Bull moved to Mercedes.
Round eight of the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patron – the Grand Prix of Mosport – came to a premature end for Robertson Racing on Sunday after a GT class rival caused substantial damage to the team’s Ford GT. 
If there was a champion team declared at the Canadian National Karting Championships a week ago at Le Circuit Karting Mont-Tremblant, it would surely have to be Team PSL Karting.
