Jean Todt has been elected to be the new president of F1′s governing body, the FIA.
At a five-star hotel near the Federation’s Paris headquarters, the worldwide membership gathered and almost 70 per cent of the votes were cast in favour of the 63-year-old Frenchman winning a four-year term to replace the incumbent Max Mosley.

Spies faster than Haga in Q1 at Portimao
Jonathan Rea (Hannspree Ten Kate Honda) set the quickest time in today’s opening qualifying session at the Portimao circuit in Portugal. The Northern Ireland youngster grabbed the provisional pole from Jakub Smrz in the final stages of the session, with a time of 1 minute 43.786 seconds, eight-hundredths faster than the Guandalini Ducati man.

The qualifying session took place under difficult conditions
Jules Bianchi (ART Grand Prix, 1:48.890 minutes) secured himself the last fastest lap time in a qualifying of the current Formula 3 Euro Series season. On the 4.574 kilometres long Grand Prix Circuit, he was 0.729 seconds quicker in his fastest lap than Valtteri Bottas (ART Grand Prix, 1:49.619 minutes).

Tristan Vautier to replace Edoardo Piscopo for Barcelona
The final round of the FIA Formula Two Championship will take place at the Circuit de Catalunya, home of the Spanish Grand Prix, next weekend (30 October – 1 November), where Andy Soucek will be formally crowned as the first F2 champion in 25 years after a remarkable season.

In 24 Hours of Dubai endurance epic at the Kartdrome
At 2.15 pm UAE time the second round of the 2009 Nivea for Men Endurance Challenge 24 Hours of Dubai was flagged off at the Dubai Autodrome. In total 26 teams and 200 drivers from around the globe embarked on another epic contest in an event that has become a mainstay of the country’s sporting calendar.

Super Nova is delighted to announce the signing of Josef Kral for the 2009/10 GP2 Asia series
The highly promising Czech driver first appeared on Super Nova’s radar screen when he was fighting Marcus Eriksson for the British Formula BMW crown in 2007, eventually finishing second. He has since continued his winning ways in Formula Masters over the past two seasons.
